MARSHAL STABILITY TEST APPARATUS

(ASTM D6927 - 22)

1. Purpose:
a. To determine the load and flow values of bituminous mixtures.

2. Operating Instructions:
a. Switch on the apparatus.
b. After preparing and compacting the specimen, place it into the
lower section of breaking head.
c. Place the upper part of the breaking head on the specimen
and load the complete assembly into position on the testing
machine.
d. Set the flow meter on top of the breaking head.
e. Use the push button controls to apply the load to the
specimen, until digital meter stops automatically at the
maximum load.
f. When the maximum load is reached, remove the flow meter.
g. Carefully remove the sample from the loading frame.

3. Maintenance Instructions/Precautions:
a. Wear protective gloves during handling/placing of sample and
testing.

b. Clean the apparatus after each test and check for any
damage.
