Relation defense science with Ideology
Ideology is a set of ideas or views about life, society, government, or a
particular political system. Ideology includes the beliefs, values, norms, and goals
that shape the worldview of a person or group of people. Ideology can be political,
religious, economic, social, or a combination of several of these aspects. Ideology
can be the basis for the formation of policies, laws and social structures in a society.
Ideology and defense science have several relationships. According to the
world view, ideology includes views that include beliefs about fundamental values.
This view will influence the way people interpret phenomena. Therefore, people with
different ideologies will see science from different perspectives. This means that the
way of understanding and capturing knowledge will also be different depending on
the ideology they adhere to.
This is sometimes good because it makes knowledge richer because it is
interpreted from different points of view. However, sometimes it is also a problem
because it can give rise to misunderstandings if interpreted according to one's own
beliefs. This could also be a threat if the knowledge that is seen is related to the
state's beliefs. If a person or group holds a particular ideology that conflicts with
established scientific findings, they may tend to ignore facts or evidence that do not
align with their beliefs. Additionally, if policies or decisions are made based on
ideology rather than scientific evidence, it can result in ineffective or even detrimental
policy implementation.
If an ideology supports views that do not support human rights, this can lead
to inequality and discrimination in society even though Science often seeks to
achieve an inclusive and objective understanding of reality. Furthermore, if decisions
are taken without considering scientific knowledge and based only on ideology, it can
increase the risk of error due to subjectivity. Therefore, there needs to be emphasis
and firm boundaries in defense science so as not to give rise to misperceptions.
The relationship between defense science and ideology can play an important
role in a country's security policy in the following contexts:
● Setting Security Priorities: A country's ideology can influence the setting of
priorities in defense science. For example, if a country adheres to an anti-war
ideology, it will focus more on national defense and improvement security
national rather than carrying out military aggression.
● Recruitment and Training of Military Personnel: in selecting and training
military troops ideology will be taken into account, of course members will be
selected who are in accordance with the state ideology and in their daily lives
the values of loyalty, obedience and a spirit of patriotism will be instilled in
accordance with the ideology adhered to.
● Participation in Military Alliances: Ideology can also play a role in a country's
decision to join or not join a particular military alliance. Countries whose
ideologies align with the values of a particular alliance may be more inclined
to join and participate actively.
● Use of Military Force: National ideology can influence policies on the use of
military force. Some countries may be inclined to choose a diplomatic
solution, while others with a harsher ideology may be more inclined to use
military force.

Relation defense science with Politics

Politics (absorption from the Dutch: politiek) is a process of formation in
society which, among other things, takes the form of a decision-making process,
distribution of power, and management of resources in a society, especially in a
state. The term "politics" can refer to various aspects of social life, including
interactions between individuals, groups, organizations, and governments, as well as
all forms of policies, laws, and rules that regulate life together. The term politics itself
has several important dimensions such as decision making, distribution of power,
ideology, political participation, law and justice, and relations between nations.
Science has a relationship in various aspects to politics. Firstly, regarding
Public Policy, Science can provide a knowledge base for making public policies.
Scientific research can provide information and analysis that supports policy making
in various fields. Second, Scientific Controversy. Several scientific issues can be a
source of political conflict. For example, issues such as climate change, nuclear
energy, covid, or vaccination can be controversial in the political realm because
political views can influence how people and political leaders interpret and respond
to scientific findings. Third, education. Politics can influence the scientific education
system, including school and university curricula. Political views can play a role in
determining the focus and emphasis on certain subjects, for example currently IT
lessons are highly encouraged for certain interests in the future. Fourth, Science
Policy. Scientific policy refers to political decision making related to scientific
research and development, as well as the use of research results for the benefit of
society. A healthy relationship between science and politics can create an
environment that supports innovation and scientific progress.
Furthermore, politics certainly also has a close relationship with defense
science because it covers a country's security policy. Decision making in the world of
defense will definitely be related to politics because it is within the scope of the state
whose power is in the hands of the government. The importance of cooperation
between defense experts and political decision makers underscores the importance
of understanding and implementing effective defense strategies. The following are
