MWA3 Reflection
The purpose of my project is to inform the audience about the Animal Crossing discourse

community and possibly join it. I achieved this by describing the various things that you can do

in the game and what the community does to show that the community is diverse and creative. In

addition, I included my experience of the game and another person’s perspective to inspire

people to join as we talk about how the game has affected us. The audience for this project were

people outside of the discourse community and so, doing a sound project was effective. It is

effective because having audio and visual ways to receive information makes sure that the

project is inclusive to all kinds of people and helps reinforce understanding. The first

technological tool I used was a video editing app on my phone called VLLO which made it easy

to compile audio together and edit the video for me, a person who has little experience with

editing. Another technology I used was the read aloud this page button near the search bar which

made an automated voice read the text interview I conducted. This made my project easier to do

as I did not have to read it myself and could just record another voice reading it and embed it to

my project. My rhetorical decision to make a sound project allowed me to also include

background music of the game’s theme which gave my project a calm and relaxing mood. One

of the challenges I faced was uploading my video for submission as I could not paste it into

Weebly as the size of the file was too big and adding a video is a premium option. Therefore, I

had to paste my video in Sway.Office and then link it to my website. The easiest thing about the

VLLO app is that I could use the audio that I recorded on my phone and put it directly into the

app for editing. Also, the thing I enjoyed about using the app is that there were many options for
text and background colors which made it fun when editing my project. Lastly, I included

citations of the interview and the YouTube video where I got the theme music at the end of the

video to give credit.
