LEARNING DESIGN: H-O-M-E

First Quarter

H op-in- This is the first part of the learner’s leaning journey. Bible text
reading is the first step which leads the pupil to seek God’s guidance
followed by a prayer, the introduction of the learning competencies and
performance task. Furthermore, the IFL is given which will link to the last
part of the learning process.

O rganize- In this step, the learner explores the content of the lesson.
Lesson
discussions, interactive questions and presentations that evidence to
unlock the enabling competencies.

M ove-up- In this part of learning, the learner conducts proper assessment, and
integrates the learning experiences to the core values of the school, real-life
situations and to other subjects across the curriculum.

E xhibit- Highest part of the learning experience that leads the learner to be
reflective, exhibit skills learned, produce the required output and close with
a prayer.

Father in Heaven, thank you for being always with me


and for giving me the blessings I need, so that I can
survive everyday. Help me to understand and learn this
module to do the activities correctly.

Integration of Faith and Learning: Be an Ambassador of God

This verse reminded us, that we need to share the good news of our Lord to
others. Let us make our God to be our conferences to other people by sharing the good

things we can have with Him. Let our lips may feed the needy, a ministering grace to the
hearers and a voice for righteousness. Be an ambassador of God.

O RGANIZE (Lesson Proper, Assimilation)

What will you do when you want to talk to someone who is in different location?

In this week¸ our lesson’s focus is on participating in video and audio


conferences in a safe and responsible manner.

Big Idea

Constant communication is inevitable when dealing with other people.


Advanced technologies contributed to make communication to be easier and faster via
online services such as video conferencing and e-group. These services empower
people to communicate, share ideas, and work with others in different places via the
internet.

Information

Video conferencing also called teleconferencing or web conferencing. Online


meetings wherein two or more people can see, hear, and talk to each other using
computer networks to send audio and video data in real time.

Some examples of video conferencing


applications that allow direct video and voice
communications via internet are SKYPE, Google,
Hangouts, Fuze Meeting, and Face Time.

1. ZOOM – is one of the most popular video
conferencing solutions for business.
It is feature-rich, with various plans
based on business size and needs.
Prices range from free for basic personal
meetings with minimum of 100 hosts
for large enterprises.

2. GOOGLE HANGOUTS – is often considered


to be an individual use service, not as
feature-rich as other commercial and
enterprise-ready services. It can be
an effective tool for video communication.

3. GOOGLE MEET – created for enterprise


customers. It is an upgraded version
of Google Hangouts. It is designed
around schedule video meetings
among team members, with similar
feature to Zoom like calendar syncing,
conference room booking, and more
polished user interface.

4. SKYPE – is augmented as an enterprise-


ready video conferencing tool. It has
several business features, such as
allowing up to 250 attendees in a
meeting and connection with other
Skype users and virtual white boarding
capabilities.

5. MESSENGER ROOMS – is a Facebook rolling


out video calling feature. It allows you
and up to 49 others to join a group video
call. You’ll be able to start a room from
Messenger, Facebook, Instagram Direct,
Whats App or Portal, and you can open
the lock it to stop uninvited people from
joining.

6. GO TOMEETING – has many useful


features, including instant meetings or
meeting scheduling, meeting
transcription services, and in-app
meeting messaging between participants.

7. MICROSOFT TEAMS – host audio, video,
and web conferences with anyone. Get
features such as scheduling assistance,
meeting note, taking, screen sharing,
meeting recording, and instant
messaging.

Here are the requirements for using the video-audio conferencing

Video conferencing is widely used in different fields:


a. At Home- it helps families and friends to stay connected to loved ones from
different places in and out of the country.

b. In School- it may enable students to see each other, share documents and
discuss lecture even they are in different cities or even countries.
It may also allow virtual field trip.

c. In Business- it is efficient to use not only in meetings, but also when dealing
with customers. Product demonstration may be executed more
effectively through video conferencing rather than explaining
verbally.
Benefits of Using Video Conferencing
1. It reduces travel time and expenses since it allows people to communicate to
several places in an instant without having to leave the office.

2. It allows people from different fields and places to easily collaborate and
share ideas with each other.

3. It enables showing demonstrations or procedures to large audience that may


come from several places from all over the world.

Participating in an Audio and Video Conference

For this activity, the teacher will closely assist the pupils in participating in an
audio and video conference to illustrate how an audio and video conference is done.
Google Hangouts will be used. The teacher will provide the necessary information to
enable you to sign-in and join a conference.

Step 1. Go to Google Hangouts, the teacher
will provide the information.

Step 2. Enable the camera and microphone


by clicking on both icons and join the
conference.

Step 3. Send chat message while the video conference is going on. Click the
chat icon. Type your message in the chat box that will appear on the
bottom right side of the screen.

Step 4. You can also share your screen by clicking on the Screen icon. For
this, application, participants in the conference may be able to see
whatever is on your computer screen. You may share a slide
presentation, documents or demonstrate procedure.

Step 5. End the audio/video conference by clicking the end call icon.

Note: Observe the activities. Check if they are observing the safe and responsible
practices in using the tools. Use the rubric below.

Activity 2: Let’s Do

Look for a group. Write a short five-minute script and role play an audio-video
conference in the business arena. For example, show a business owner
communicating with a supplier, or a manager communicating with the sales force, etc.
set up an audio-video conference. You may search for and use free software such as
Messenger to conduct an online collaboration and discuss with your group.

Activity 3: Let’s Perform:

Demonstrate online collaboration and communication on video and audio


conferencing. Note to write indicators under the score.

Create a group work using video-audio conferencing. Try to observe your group
on the activities. Check if they are observing the safe and responsible practices in
using the video-audio conferencing.

2. Benefits and challenges experienced in using the tools.
