Spreadsheets are designed with functions and formulas that will make
calculating numerical data easier and convenient. Using formulas and functions
will help increase the accuracy of your calculations while decreasing the amount
of time spend.
There are hundreds of functions found in Excel.
All these can be accessed using either of the following methods
MS Excel Chart
A chart is a visual representation of data in worksheet of the spreadsheet
program. It makes easy to study and interpret the data.
LET’S REMEMBER
ACTIVITY 1 Create an Excel file for the sample below. Use formulas and
function as stated in every question. Encircle the letter of the
correct answer.
1. What formula will you type on “column B of row 7” to get the sum of total
score in week 1?
a. =AVERAGE(B4:B6) c. =SUM(C4:C6)
b. =PRODUCT(B4:B6) d. =SUM(B4:B6)
2. What formula will you type on “column B of row 8” to get the average of score
in week 1?

3. To get the total of score for activity 1 in all week, what formula will you type on
“column J of row 4”?

4. To get the average of score for activity 1 in all week, what formula will you
type on “column K of row 4”?

5. To get the “total of score in all week, what formula will you type on “column J
of row 7”?

ACTIVITY 2
Directions: Read the situation below. Use functions and formulas in an
electronic spreadsheet below. Fill up the blank by writing formulas
and function on total cost, total expenses and balance.
Note: Your answer on the blank will be “Formula and function” not the
cost or amount.
Your Mother is making Weekly Marketing Budget Allowance. Help her budget the
weekly allowance in the amount of Php 700.00 by making Spreadsheet using
Microsoft Excel:
