H.S.S.

Rules
for PSA Port Users

Foreword

Welcome to PSA,
All port users are to adhere to all Health, Safety and
Security, (HSS) requirements to ensure a safe working
environment for all.
We would like to draw your attention to some of the key
HSS rules in this brochure.

General HSS Rules in PSA Premises

Put on the required Personal Protective Equipment.

Safety helmet must be worn with the chin


strap strapped at the wharf, onboard ship
and all designated hard hat areas.

Do not loiter in operational or cross the life jacket zone

canteen and
authorised areas

Please ensure that:

Smoking is only allowed at the


authorised areas e.g. designated
yellow box around the canteens.

Ensure adequate
rest, stay hydrated
and fit to work

Please ensure that:
Vehicles does
not emit smoke
during use.

Idle engines are turned off for


reasons other than traffic conditions.

Exception granted for:


• PSA appointed shuttle bus
• Vehicles with on-board machinery
such as mobile cranes

No dumping or effluence
discharge within the port.

All waste
and litter
are properly
disposed.

Take care to prevent


mosquito breeding.

Key Rules for Driving in the Port
Operations areas are out of bound for private vehicles.

Wharf Yard

Drive only along main port roads.

Park your vehicle at designated parking areas.

Observe speed limit, traffic signs and drive with care.

Always stay alert and look out for


heavy vehicles

Speed limit on main port roads


is 40 kmph.

Keep within
your lane.
Signal your
intention early
if you are
making a turn.

Key HSS Rules in Container Terminal
Use our shuttle bus to get to your destination.

Use pedestrian crossings and walk path provided.

Key HSS Rules in the Warehouses
Keep clear of unstable stacks.

Only perform work that you are trained/authorised/permitted.

Moving forklifts can be dangerous.


Look out for them especially around blind corners.

Walk within the designated

Key HSS Rules in Engineering Workshop

If it is your first time entering the


workshop, request for escort and
guidance.

Do not enter areas


meant for authorised
personnel only.

Use designated foot path


when moving around the
workshop.

Be alert of moving
equipment and give way
to them.

Look out for slipping or tripping


hazards in the workshop.
