Dear Skoltech Admission’s Committee,

I am Muhammad Naeem Khan belongs to (Kashmir) Pakistan. I did my M.Phil. in Agriculture major
Biotechnology from University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan. With this letter, I would like to
express my interest to study at the Latrobe university as a Ph.D. student. As Pakistan is an agricultural
oriented country so that’s why I decided to take my career in the field of agriculture. Pakistan lacks
advanced technology in the field of agriculture and require more advancement to boost up the economy.
To equip Pakistan’s agriculture with latest technology it is required to gain more advanced technology
from the agricultural developed countries by training the students of Pakistan as a way of technology
transfer. Australia being a developed country in agricultural technology seems a better destination. That
is why I sorted Australia to learn and gain new technology in my relevant field and then, on my return, I
will apply latest acquired technology in the development of the agriculture of Pakistan.
I have decided to apply for the Latrobe university in Agrobiotechnology because I get inspired from one
of the emerging and advanced technologies of “DNA typing of Pakistani almonds using rbcL and
matK markers”. That allows users to efficiently recognize known species and speed the discovery of
species yet to be found in nature.
My research areas in M. Phil are studying genetic diversity of almonds in Pakistan using DNA
barcoding technology. I am well proficient in molecular techniques which are applied in molecular
biology lab like, DNA extraction, Plasmid isolation, restriction analysis, PCR, ligation, construct
development, cloning, transformation, and plant tissue culture techniques.
Beside I have a vast experience of three years in diagnostic lab in PCR on COVID-19, Hepatitis B and C
diagnosis and analysis. My areas of specialization ranges DNA/RNA isolation, operating qPCR, RT-
PCR, Hematology, Microbiology, Serology, routine and special Chemistry. I have a detailed
understanding of pathology, microbiology, molecular biology, genomics and infection’s nature of
different diseases.
I am an innovative and self-motivated Youngman much eager to experience the culture of Australia and
interacting with people from different backgrounds would be a valuable thing. I am much hopeful to
start my studies in this year at Latrobe to be a professional researcher in my career.
