LEARNING OBJECTIVE By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
1. Scan and locate information in a text.
2. Demonstrate understanding on healthy eating by filling in a table with relevant information from
the text.
3. Justify their selection of foods by giving reasons.
ACTIVITIES PRE-LESSON
1. Students paste cards on whiteboard (Word Wall) activity according to two categories:
 Healthy
 Unhealthy
2. Teacher displays 5 different types of foods. In groups, students choose which food they think are
the healthiest and justify their answers.

LESSON DELIVERY
1. Students read an info graphic on ‘Healthy Eating Plate’ (PICTURE 1). Students complete an
information transfer chart (WORKSHEET 1). Students discuss answers with face partner.
2. Students study a list of healthy and unhealthy food in WORKSHEET 2.
3. Students select the food that they want to include in their picnic basket. (WORKSHEET 2).
4. Students write down their selection and present the contents of “My Picnic Basket” as classmates
give comments in Carousel Feedback**. Students justify their decisions.
