To support the DepEd Point Agenda 2017-2022 entitled Quality,

Accessible, Relevant and Liberating Basic Education for All, the Laoac National
High School, observed the conduct of the National Reading Month Celebration
this month of November 2023. The School Library, Filipino & English Department
of Laoac National High School conducted series of reading related activities and
a culminating event that reinforced the strengthening of the DepEd’s Every Child
A Reader Program and the Brigada Pagbasa, making every Filipino child a
competent reader and writer appropriate for his/ her grade level.

On November 29, 2023, the Laoac National High School- English


Department has conducted a Mr. & Ms. Literary Cosplay 2023 in order to
showcase the skills, talents and knowledge of the learners. It was participated by
38 female candidates and 19 male candidates. They portrayed different book
and movie characters based on their preference and demonstrated creative
performances that amazed the audience and the judges.

The said event was highlighted through the unrelenting support of the
Faculty & Staff headed by Mr. Arnulfo M. Dela Cruz, the Municipal Officials
headed by Hon. Ricardo Dispo Balderas, CE, and the rest of the stakeholders of
Laoac National High School.
Dr. Remegia Valdez Javier, Head Teacher III of the English Department, has also
shared words of inspiration and commendation to everyone which set the atmosphere
of the afternoon activity. This was even reinforced by the warm greetings by the guests
and parents are captivated by the creativity and superb characterizations of the student-
candidates.

From their magical and breathtaking introduction and performance, minor awards
were given that also led to the selection of Top 8 Male & Female Candidates who
continued to the second part of the competition which is the Question-and-Answer
Portion.

After the rigid and mind-blowing decision making of the board of judges, title
holders and runners up were announced that made the crowd yelled and clapped with
astonishment and joy. Ashley Dalope, and John Juven Basagan bagged the Mr. & Ms.
Literary Cosplay 2023 titles.

The teachers, parents, board of judges and the title holders posed and smiled with
fulfillment as the successful event closed its curtain.
Erika Mae C. Tingco and Gelnea Marien Jadormeo, the masters of ceremony,
as they energetically commence the culminating activity of the National
Reading Month that is the Mr.& Ms. Literary Cosplay 2023 and Awarding
Ceremony.

The Grade 8 students, as they gracefully dances the Prayer Song that sets
the atmosphere of the hall.

The candidates of the Mr. & Ms. Literary Cosplay 2023, as they pose their
best during the Production Number.
After a rigid selection, top 8 male and female candidates were chosen to
move to the next level that is the Question and Answer Portion. This will
determine the winners for the year’s Mr.& Ms. Literary Cosplay.

The candidates, as they receive their most awaited minor awards after a tedious
preparation and practice for the culminating activity. Miss Leah R Tingco, Mr.
Allan Hortizuela and Mr. Edward Mindaro, the board of judges, were the ones
who pinned the sashes and awarded the certificate to the winners.
The candidates, as they smile for the success of the meaningful event that
helped them hone their potentials in the different macro-skils.

After a rigid selection, Ashley Alyssa Dalope and John Juvan Badagan were
awarded as Mr. &Ms. Literary Cosplay 2023.

The teachers, together with the board of judges and the winners, as they
pose for the success of the Culminating Activity of the National Reading
Month Celebration this November 29, 2023.
