Today, I'm going to talk about my favourite place when I am sad

About question number 1 … When I am sad, where do I often go?
- Everyone often goes somewhere when feeling sad. As with me, I often go shopping
or go to karaoke with my close friends when I am sad. Because, these activities make
me relax and forget what made me sad before. When I sing a song, all stresses or
sadness are removed, I feel my mental health hoac mood ( tam trang) become better
and I can come back to work and feel much stronger.
- In your life, you cannot avoid sadness. It’s not important that you have to hide your
sadness, but you have to know how to get yourself back after a sad time. For me, I
have a special place to go whenever I’m sad. That is my favourite bookstore. The
smell of new printed books helps me reveal my stress. They have cozy atmosphere
and even a coffee shop inside the bookstore for book lovers.
About question number 2 … Do I prefer to be there alone or with someone else?
- As I mentioned above, when I am sad, I prefer going shopping, go out for some
coffee or karaoke with my close friends. Because I can share everything with them.
We can spend hours talking together and don’t feel bored. They can understand and
usually give me some advice to overcome my sadness.
- I am not an out-going person, a truly introverted one, so I just want to be alone.
Alone is not lonely, so don’t be mistaken. When I go to work, I have to communicate
with my partners, my boss, and so on. I have to put a lot of effort into communicating
and working with others, which makes me so tired. So when I’m sad, I want to be
alone and spend time for myself.
About question number 3 … Which places would I recommend my friends to go
for relaxation?
- Well. I think that shopping malls, a beautiful cafe or karaoke conner, going to the
beach are good places for me as well as for my friends to go for relaxation.
- I think everyone have a different hobby. With someone who love shopping, I would
recommend them to go to a shopping mall. And with someone who likes a quiet and
peaceful place, I would recommend them to go to the spa. Make yourself beautiful is
the useful way to relieve your stress.

Now, let’s move to the second topic. It is about time management.

About question number 1… Am I good at managing my time?
- Of course, I am. I think that managing the time by myself is good and is one of
necessary conditions for a successful and happy life. We will not miss any work and
not get stressed because having too many activities have to finish at the same time.
As for me, all seem to be continuing very well. However, this year, the outbreak of
COVID-19 pandemic has affected all fields in life in the globe, and I am not an
exception. I have delayed twice of the B2 English test because all of the people must
social isolate with a distance to control or limit the spread of COVID-19. That will
affect the time of my PhD graduation. So, today I attended this English test with the
hope that I will pass for my PhD graduation on time.
About question number 2 … How do I manage my time?- Set a smart goal
I manage my time by setting a timetable with notebook. I will plan for work a day, a
month and even a year or 5 years for a bigger, longer target. For example, with work
a day, I often have a schedule like what time to get up, what time to have breakfast,
what time to the office, or to take and get my children to school, or to have dinner
and what time to go to bed. All have to plan for a relatively stable time in order to
make me don’t be worried or stressed. And for a bigger target such as buying a new
motorbike, a car or a house, I often spend a longer time from one to five years doing
it.
About question number 3 … Why is it important to manage time?
As I have mentioned above, managing the time for myself plays an important role for
a successful and happy life. We will not miss or not be delayed by any work and not
get stressed because having too many works have to finish at the same time. If you do
not know how to manage time well, you will have to run after the deadline all the
time. And stress would certainly come.

Part 2
Situation: The manager of an English centre wants to advertise it. Three media
are suggested: Television, Internet and Radio. Which means of advertising do
you think is the best choice?

Answer:
Today, my situation is that the manager of an English centre wants to advertise it.
There are three media suggested: television, internet and radio. In my opinion, the
internet is the best choice for advertising because of the following reasons.

The first thing is that, it is undeniable that in recent years, the internet has strongly
developed and has become one of the most common media means. Many companies
have used it for advertising their products. Because they know that the advertised
information about their products will be given to consumers quickly. Moreover, the
consumers even can interact with producers whenever they want. Therefore, the
products will be sold much more. As for the English centre, advertising by the
internet will help quickly many people know more about it, parents or students will
interact and ask some questions about the centre in a comment area of the advertised
site instead of directly having to go to the centre. They can register a English course
or time for a free test before starting to learn English there. And the manager can
easily read how the advertisement is going.
And with other advertisements like television or radio. I think that they are
traditional means for advertising which the manager of English centre can use.
However, they are not the fastest ways in order to give the information of the centre
to customers. Customers have to sit in front of the television screen to watch or turn
on the radio to hear the advertisements. They cannot interact with the advertisers at
that time. So, the effectiveness of advertising will not be good..

Taking everything into consideration, I think that internet is the best choice for this
manager.

Today, I’m going to talk about my traveling experience
About question number 1 … What was the last place I travelled to?
My last place I travelled is Cua Lo beach with my family. This is a memorable
holiday. We had a good time together to attend some activities there like swimming
in clear sea water and gentle waves; enjoying some delicious seafoods such as crabs,
losters, octopus, etc or together walking in a long coastline to see the sunshine or
sunset. This is an excellent opportunity for all of the members in my family to live in
a close and warm atmosphere, to share the feeling, experiences of life, and care for
each other.
About question number 2 … Have I ever travelled alone?
As with me, I have never travelled alone. Because I must say that travelling alone is
boring and dangerous if going to a place far from the centre such as climbing to
mountain. I think that, if I go on vacation alone, I have to take care all by myself. I
will have to usually remember to take the map, and have to find more carefully the
transportation or accommodation, etc. In contrast, if I go on holiday with my friends
or family I can share these works with them and so all worries will be reduced.
About question number 3 … Which city in Vietnam do I like the most?
There are many beautiful cities in Vietnam I want to visit during my vacation. But
Nhatrang is the city I like to visit the most. Because Nhatrang is a famous and
beautiful coastal city in Vietnam as well as all over the world. It has a long coastline
with white sand and gentle waves. There are famous resorts built in the islands such
as Vinpearl Land with many popular games. In Nhatrang, we also can visit many
sceneries and enjoy many good sea foods like crabs, lobsters or octopus. I hope that I
will be there next holiday.

Now, Let’s move to the second topic. It is about public transportation

About question number 1 … Can I name some of the means of public
transportation?
Yes, of course. Some means of public transportation like grabbike, taxi, coach, bus,
train or plane. They are systems of vehicles that operate at regular time on fixed
routes and are used by the public.
About question number 2 … What is my favourite means of public
transportation? Why?
Ok, with me. The plane is the public transportation I like the most for moving to a
place so far, and the bus is the best means for me to move in the city. Because, as you
know, the plane can run fastly, it takes only about 2 hours to move from Hanoi to Ho
Chi Minh city with a distance of about 2000 kilometres. So, we do not waste time
moving. Moreover, in statistics, the accidents by planes are less than others, so using
the plane is the safest way to move to a place far from our living. And about the bus,
it is the means of public transportation with the cheapest ticket price, so i like using
it when I move in the city.
About question number 3 … What means of public transportation is the most
popular in my city? Why?
In my city, the bus is the most popular public transit means. Because, in a big city
like Hanoi, in order to reduce traffic jams in the streets as well as keep healthy, most
young people, students or old people choose the bus for moving. Moreover, the bus is
also the cheapest means of transport, so it is suitable for many people.

Part 2:
Today, my situation is that my niece’s primary school is asking for parents’

comments only, both marks and comments.

My situation…..
In my opinion both marks and comments are the best way to assess students
totally.

Because the marks are the traditional way to assess the learning ability of pupils. It
helps them as well as teachers and parents know how the children are learning, they
are weak at what subjects in order to have a solution . Besides, as you know, students
now are not only evaluated by score, but also by some comments and other forms
like attedance and participants. The teachers are people who teach and understand the
students’ ability during their learning process, so the comments of teachers about the
students are quite correct and will help parents and students know the children’s
strength and weakness in order to help them to make some progress.

That is also the reason why we should not use marks only or comments only to assess
the pupils. Because they only rate the pupils on one side.

About question number 1 … What is my favorite magazine? Why?
-I like Sports because I am a fan of football. I often follow the football match
timetables and update information about footballers and teams and new champion
competition
-I like Fashion or/ Beauty or Family, Travel ..because I am keen on fashion.It makes
me update new trend about it. I like watching beaufiful models….
-As you know, magazines are thin books with large papers or a paper cover which
contains the articles and photographs, and are published every day, every week or
month. With me, I like magazines of science because they help me to more
understand about the life of animal, growing of plants as well as about the valuation
of the life bring to everyone. The magazines of science are also useful for my work,
because I’m a researcher in Biotechnology. So the information from the articles on
magazines will be excellent references for my studies in future.
About question number 1 Do I prefer reading online magazines to traditional
paper magazines?
. Nowadays, with the rapid development of technology, many online magazines have
appeared and have become a favorite habit of many people and of course of me .
Because online magazines are convenient and quick to access. We only have to have
a computer or smartphone which connects the internet, we can read any magazines
we want. We don’t have to wait for a long time in order to publish as traditional
paper magazines. Some articles now are published online before they are printed on
papers. So readers will be updated with the information faster. Such as the science
magazines which I read like apply science, vaccine, plant virus, etc, I only register an
account on their pages and every day or week or month, the magazines will send me
the information of papers which are published in an issue number via my email. And
I can easily choose which papers are useful for my work.
About question number 3 … In my opinion, what are the benefits of reading
magazines?
It is undeniable that reading magazines has become a popular habit of many people
for many years and will continue to the future. In my opinion, that is because of many
benefits reading magazines bring.

The first thing is that reading papers will update many useful and new information
for everyone. They help people know what is happening in the nations or the world,
what should we do or not and so on.

The second thing is that reading magazines supports the work for many people. The
articles are good references in order to improve the understanding and studies for
researchers as well as for the students to finish their graduation thesis.

The last thing is that reading magazines helps increase the memory for old people.
This is a good way and gentle exercise for olders to keep or improve their brain
action.

In conclusion, reading magazines is a good action and brings many benefits for us. So
we should keep it in our life until we are old.

Now let’s move to the second topic. It is about places of interest in my area.
About question number 1 … Are there any places of interest in my area? Why
are they places of interest?
Oh, yes there are. In my area, there are some places of interest such as a small green
plant park which is opposite the Vietnam museum of Ethnology. It is about 1
kilometre away from my house. I often take my children to visit this museum on the
weekend. The children can discover all of the traditional cultures of 54 ethnis groups
in Vietnam through their pictures and residence area. The children also can see the
traditional houses and uniforms of some ethinic groups in Vietnam like Kinh, Tay,
Thai, H’mong, etc. These make my children feel very interesting. And then, I often
take them to the Nghia Do park which is opposite the museum. This park grows
many green plants with fresh air and has many games for children to enjoy like
fishing, climbing, driving cars, etc…I think that this is an excellent place for children
to relax after hard learning times.
About question number 2 … What would be the best way to get there? Why?
As I mentioned above, the Vietnam museum of Ethnology and Nghia Do park are
close to my house, they are about 1 kilometre away from my house. So motorbike is
the best way to get there with my family. Because with this distance, too far for using
a bicycle or too close for catching a taxi to go there. Motorbike is small enough to
move easily from the narrow street in my area to the museum and park.
About question number 3 … What do I think is the best time to go to those
places? Why?
I think that the best time to go to there is at the weekends. Because in order to visit
the museum or go to the park, we have to have a long enough time to discover it or to
enjoy all things there. So the weekend is the most suitable free time for me and my
children to get there.

Part 2

Today, my situation is that I am going to attend a Prom for graduate students.

Who would I like to go with: my darling, my best friend or alone. I think that I
would like to go to the Prom with my best friend.

Because this is a prom for all students before graduation. So there are many of my
classmate friends and my best friend who also come to the prom. We will meet each
other there and enjoy together the activities in the prom like dancing, talking, sing a
song or take some memorial photographs, etc. If I go to the prom with my best friend,
we will have a good preparation for the prom. We will easily discuss together what
uniform we will wear for the prom, how to go to the prom, what we will do there and
so on. So, I think that we will have a memorable party for our graduation.

And about the idea that going to the graduation prom with my darling or alone, I
think that they are not suitable in this case. I will feel bored if I come there alone.
And my darling also will feel that it is difficult to join in the activities there.

Overall, I think that going with best friend is the perfect choice for me
