COVID is not gone yet. If we are not careful, our TA’s Task No. of Hours
Controls Lab can turn into a COVID hotspot. So,
Lecture 1
1. Each day’s batch is divided into two sub- Prelab 1
batches: the first works from 1400 to 1515, Lab 3
and the second from 1530 to 1450.
Experiment 3
2. The lab is sanitized during 1515 – 1530.
3. At least two students and at most 3 students Total 8 hours/week
shall constitute one group.
4. Each subbatch shall have 7 – 8 groups. Demo + 6 experiments + 2 makeups + end-sem
5. The lab has ceiling fans, two exhaust fans, exam = 10 weeks
two pedestal fans, and sanitizer.
6. There shall be a distance of at least 2 meters
between two groups.
7. Social distancing between tutors, TAs, JT, and 9 Grading Policy

General Instructions
3. The midsem examination (60 minutes duration) will carry 10% marks and will have
questions from EC and EMEC subjects. There will no written Endsem examination
4. For each component of evaluation (questions in midsem exams, and each lab
individualy), if the section average is more than 0.5 of Maximum marks, then marks
for each component will be downscaled to bring average to 0.5 of maximum marks. At
the end of semester, sum total of all the components will be upscaled to bring the
average of sum total to 0.5 of maximum marks. The final lab exams will be excluded
from this process as they have different normalization criteria.
6. There will be a final LAB examination. The lab examination will carry 25% marks. Each
student will be asked to carry out one experiment in any one of the three labs (EC, CS,
EMEC) randomly based on lottery. For EE480A, the lottery will decide only one of the EC
or EMEC labs. The lab examinations will on 14 and 15 November, 2022. Only the lab exam
marks will be normalized as follows. For the whole class, if the average is mt , and
standard deviation is σt , and if for EC mean is m e and standard deviation is σ e , for
all student who have been examined in EC and got marks x i , the marks will be scaled up
σ σ
by linear transformation y i= A x i+B , where A= σ t and B=mt − σ t m e . In case,
e e
after transformation marks becomes more than 25, we will take it as 25 and if it becomes
less than 0, it will be taken as 0. Similary, the transformation for EMEC and CS lab exam
marks will also be done. This will be valid for EE480A students also. This normalization
will be happenning across each lab exam batch.
Instructions:
Each lab instructor will give the instructions for their labs separately.
