General
The gyrocompassequipment STANDARD 20 PLUSis usedfor navigation on boardships.
The gyrocompassSTANDARD 20 as a sensorascertains true northindependently fromthe
earth'smagnetic fieldand,thus,permitssteeringof a headingreferred to geographical north.
The headingsignalfromthe absolute,digitalpositionpick-ofiin the gyrocompass
STANDARD 20 undergoesan internaldigitalprocessing.
Furthermore, the headingcanbescannedofia magnetic compass viaa magnetic sondeand
then processed =
in the system(IMC TransmittingMagneticCompass).
Boththeheadingvalues(gyroor magneticheading) arenecessarily correcled
in thesystem.
All valuesrequiredfor the correction(speed, latitude, variationand deviation)are automati-
callyor manuallyentered.
By incorporatedtransmission systems, the headingistransmitted to repeatercompasses and
otherreferencereceivers.
Option:Thesystemconfiguration of the gyrocompassequipmentSTANDARD 20 PLUSalso
