REPAIRING LEAKS IN TILT-UP WALLS

In the windows of electrical conduit plenum passages and conduit and duct passages.

1. Seals with Durock caps, adapted or drilled, and sealed perimetrically with polyurethane elastomeric

seals for mobile joints, or epoxy cartridge; pipe joints will be sealed between them, and perimetrically

to the pipe.

2.The seals shall be sealed on the external and internal section of the wall and filled with a polystyrene

or polyurethane elastomeric "extruded polyurethane foam insulation".

3.After the external and internal seals, waterproofing or airtightness tests shall be carried out,

depending on which is applicable.

4.On windows and Louvers, seals with epoxy cartridge.

5.TILT UP wall seals shall be checked.

6.Watertightness testing shall be a scheduled process after seals have dried and joints are fully

watertight. These tests are based on ASTM D5957, "Tandard Guide for Flood Testing Horizontal and

Vertical Waterproofing Installations" and consist of irrigation and flood tests.

PRODUCTS TO USE

Elastic sealants for movable joints

1-Polyurethane elastomer seal cartridge

2-Epoxy seal cartridge

3-Liquid polyurethane sealant, for cover gaskets and step closures.

4-Extruded polyurethane foam as insulation, for wall sealings.

5- DUROCK sheet, for external waterproofing boxes.

REPAIR OF LEAKS IN MECHANICAL CURTAINS AND EXTERIOR DOORS

AND EXTERIOR DOORS

In the process of sealing the lower water inlet in mechanical curtains, the following actions shall be

carried out:

1. A semi-elastic flange of neoprene or flexible rubber shall be placed on the lower section of the curtain

in contact with the building slab. This will mitigate the entry of water by venting to the interior.

2. A second element such as a semi-elastic plastic barrier shall be installed and bolted to the slab on

the inside of the curtain flange.

3. Lateral elastic curtain barriers are available and must be installed in addition to the curtain flange.

4. In exterior doors, adjust the lower closing flange and place an external flexible flange to prevent the

passage of water through venting and capillary action.

5. Seal joints with polyurethane or epoxy sealant,

REPAIR OF LEAKS IN TPO

TPO repair processes are subject to procedures based on the product and its installation, as well as

the processes defined in the Hermosillo TPO Waterproofing Technical Manual.

Cracks in the roof must be located as a matter of urgency using a visual inspection method, which is

optional.

1.This method consists of a colour test, using a water-based liquid, dyed with a non-toxic dye

containing a striking blue or green colour, to identify the source of each leak. This will be poured

at the first approximate location of each leak, seeking to locate them.

2. A thorough 100% quadrant inspection is being carried out on each complete axle quadrant

with any interior leaks in question.

Circular and square patches of each suspected leaking area will be replaced.

3. Based on the Deck Protection procedure and the technical report of actions learned

generated last year, sectors of the deck shall be permanently confined, prohibiting free

passage through all areas by site personnel. Confined corridors should be made only for the

passage of personnel only related to deck activities and to specific work areas on deck.

4. Reinforce the personnel assigned to the project to be able to immediately and urgently

attack all leaks and have adequate personnel to inspect the entire roof.

CUBIMSA will inspect the roof 100%, especially in the joints and welds between patches and

joints between sections, identifying possible leaks and placing auxiliary patches where leaks

may occur:

1. The deck shall be divided into sectors for inspection and location of TPO faults and

installation abnormalities. See Fig N° 1

2. Once the failure has been identified, CUBIMSA will repair it using the repair method in

the TPO Waterproofing Technical Manual.

3. The repair of each failure must be carried out, sealed and completed on the same day

as the repair points cannot be open due to the likelihood of rain.

Inspection of the roof by sector will help to be more assertive in locating leaks, which will be

assessed and repaired immediately after assessment. The existing seal will be opened to

replace old seals and replace patches to ensure the quality of the joint.

CUBIMSA will repair each leak using the TPO joint repair methods in the TPO Waterproofing

Technical Manual. Indicated for the product and which was submitted and approved.

PRIORITISATION OF AREAS FOR LEAKAGE REPAIRS

AND IDENTIFICATION OF LEAKS

We have identified 8 leaks that generate short drips from the roof, and are directly related to

failures in the TPO seals, in the secondary structure connections for the Shiller equipment and

for the chilled water system piping, which rest on the main structure.

The rest of the leaks are associated with TILT UP seals, leaks in pipe penetrations and duct

penetrations that are not properly sealed, also related to louvers, windows and door seals, and

are also considered to correct water ingress through the expansion area curtains.

These repairs will be carried out under strict supervision, tests will be carried out for

subsequent verification of the repairs of the leaks, these tests will be irrigation tests for walls,

windows and wall penetrations and flooding tests for TPO roofing.

The technical data sheets of the additional materials, which will be used for the construction of

the repairs of the leaks, are presented in additional files.

In addition to this document, the technical manual for TPO waterproofing will be attached, in

order with the TPO repairs.
