SCOPE 2: MAINTENANCE OF FIRE FIGHTING SYSTEM

1. Introduction
This SOW outlines Contractors Technical Proposition to undertake a Turnkey
-

Project of maintenance of fire fighting system

Prepare all technical specification and Paper works, detailed Scope of Work and all

required Drawings if needed.

Procure all necessary materials.
Provide the skilled Staff to replace defected spools
Commission and Handover the Project to the Owner.

2. INSPECTION, FABRICATION AND ERECTION WORK FOR THE

REPLACEMENT OF UNDERGROUND PIPES
a. Work Area mobilization
Mobilization will consist of preparatory work and operations necessary for the
movement of personnel, equipment, Supplies and incidentals to the project site.
GECOL is responsible for providing any necessary mobilization effort.
Excavation work should be carefully planned before work starts so it can be
carried out safely. Planning involves identifying the hazards, assessing the risks and
determining appropriate control measures in consultation with all relevant persons
involved in the work, including the principal contractor, excavation contractor,
designers and mobile plant operators. Structural or geotechnical engineers of OWNER
Company may also need to be consulted at this stage to get all information in
concern what underground.
GETS Company shall Study Hazard & Operability Analysis (HAZOP) to avoid the
following hazards which shall be considered when planning excavation activities:

underground and overhead services, including gas, water, sewerage,

telecommunications,
Electricity, chemicals, and fuel or refrigerant in pipes or lines.
The fall or dislodgement of earth or rock.
Falls and falling objects;
Inappropriate placement of excavated materials, plant or other loads;
The instability of any adjoining structure caused by the excavation;

The instability of the excavation due to persons or plant working adjacent

to the excavation.
The presence of or possible inrush of water or other liquid;
Road traffic obstruction caused by the excavation or trench;
Lifting and handling hazards (e.g. from scaffolding being lowered into the

excavation).
Confined space hazards.
Health and ergonomic

techniques.
Welfare and sanitation risks associated with remote/temporary worksites,

risks

associated

with

manual

excavation

b. Inspection and removal of defected underground

pipelines
All defected spools are buried in precast concrete duck. Thus, all precast cover will
be removed before starting the removal of underground pipes to be replaced.
Primary inspection, necessary measurement and drawings will be taken before the
cutting operation in order to ensure that the new spools will be identical in size and
orientation to the old ones. All the construction works will be performed under the
control and supervision of Engineers qualified in petroleum and natural gas,
mechanical, electrical and civil engineering. Furthermore; Trained, experienced and
specialized Engineers and technicians will be on site during pre-commissioning and
commissioning period. The Procedure will be:

Removal of 500x500x250 THK precast cover

Tacking of necessary dimensions and drawings : size and length of spool ,

orientation
Cutting of the defected pipes

c. Prefabrication and external coating

According to the measurement and drawing tacked before the removal of
underground pipelines, prefabrication will be done by highly qualified welders and CS
pipefitter under the control of the QC controller and project engineer. NDT will be
conducted for every single new spool. New spools will be protected against corrosion
by providing with adequate blasting and coating system.

d. Erection of underground pipes

e. Final Inspections:
The inspection procedure and inspection methods will be prepared for GECOL
Company approval prior to the commencement of the inspection. Our Company will
have own routine inspection activities for quality control, which can be preceded on
our free independent schedules regardless of the presence of the inspection
authority.
Inspection certificates, shop test certificates, fabrication certificates, performance
test certificates and all other certificates and reports will be issued in English
language.

3. TESTING & COMMISSIONING

Once pipeline system is completed, an integrity test on the system is to be done
by hydro-testing the whole system to1.5 times the MAWP (Maximum Allowable
Working Pressure or Design Pressure) for a minimum of 4 hrs and providing all
necessary water to do the hydro test.
GETS Company is committed to perform the required Hydrostatic test following
OWNER procedure from Filling to Drainage:

Prior to the hydrostatic testing, it shall be confirmed that all specified NDT
of welds and inspection shall been completed with applicable codes and
standards

Before the pipeline is filled with test water, the points for settlement
measurement shall be marked on and the level at measurement points
shall be recorded.

Hydrostatic test continuous recording time/pressure graph shall be

provided throughout the testing cycle

All input or output must be closed by blind flange except the filling input.
