specific areas in Mindanao.
(2) Make a comparison of characteristics of arts and crafts from specific areas in

MUSIC : MUSIC OF MINDANAO ( Vocal and Instrumental music analysis

In previous lesson you have identified the musical instruments and other
sound sources of representative music selections from Mindanao, how important
the vocal music to their culture and traditions. In this module we are going to
analyze some vocal and instrumental music of Mindanao. We will focus on
musical elements as you listen to the vocal tone, melodic lines, and rhythm of
the song, texture, and form.

ARTS: MINDANAO ART PRESENTATION (DESIGNS AND FORMS)


Mindanao has a high diversity for culture, customs and traditions. From the different
ethno-linguistics whose diverse in the second largest islands of the Philippines.
B’laan tribe who’s known for their beautiful embroidery, brass ornaments and
beadworks integrated to their traditional clothing with the use of ikat the process of
dyeing the fabrics.

Bagobo tribe are identified for their beautiful woven textile called t’nalak made from
a deep dark brown abaca fiber.
T’boli tribe also known as “dream weaver” of the Lake Sebu, also well-known with
their elaborated beadworks, stunning brass ornaments and the famous t’nalak.

(Mosaic- is a pattern made up of small regular or irregular shapes or pieces
to create a beautiful artwork)
Materials: Assorted colored papers, scissors, glue or paste, pen or pencil, short
bond paper
Procedures:
1. Draw your own design of vinta using short bond paper.
2. Carefully cut your assorted colored papers into small pieces.
3. Piece by piece gently glue or paste into your design. Make it sure that
there is no space in between.
4. Continue until you achieve your desired outcome. (see picture).

BRIEF INTRODUCTION

P.E. : TINIKLING DANCE STEPS DEVELOPMENT (PART 1)

Tinikling dance is one of the famous folkdances in the Philippines. Considered as


the National dance. It derives its name from the bird “tikling” on how the birds
skillfully maneuver with grace in between the bamboo poles.
It is a partner dance using a pair of bamboo poles with 2 person holding it
as a clapper. Dancers try to move and dance without stepping or being stuck in
between the poles in fast rhythmical dance music.
In this week lesson, you will learn the First 2 Figures of the dance Tinikling.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION ACTIVITY


Material/s: Garter as your bamboo, music or video as your guide
Counting: 1,2,3 in a measure (1,2,3 = 1M)
Procedure:
 Follow the instructions carefully.
 All hands should be placed on your waist.

Emotional and Mental Health management is a key to improving once self. Stress
management will help student achieve what they want in their life. Since they know
what their priorities in life are.
Stress is defined as the physiological and emotional responses to a significant or
unexpected change or disruption in one’s life. (Payne, et al., 2005).
Stressor refers to the things that make a person stressed.
As a student they need to know what their eustress and distress are to handle
things properly. Stress management skills are techniques that can be used to cope with
the harmful effects produced by stress. Thinking positive at all times, having a smiley
face and laughing are the best ways to lessen the stress in life.
