At the end of this module, you are expected to:
MUSIC
a. Analyze the musical elements of some Mindanao vocal and instrumental
music;
b. Listen to selected vocal and instrumental music of Mindanao.
Specifically, you will be able to:
(1) Identify the musical elements of representative selections of Mindanao
through listening.
(2) Analyse the musical elements of some vocal and instrumental music
selections in Mindanao through answering the given activity.
c. Reflect on and derive the mood, idea or message emanating from selected
artifacts and art objects of Mindanao.
Specifically, you will be able to:
(1) Identify the elements and principle of arts in a given crafts samples from
specific areas in Mindanao.
(2) Make a comparison of characteristics of arts and crafts from specific areas in
Mindanao.

BRIEF INTRODUCTION
In previous lesson you have identified the musical instruments and other
sound sources of representative music selections from Mindanao, how important
the vocal music to their culture and traditions. In this module we are going to
analyze some vocal and instrumental music of Mindanao. We will focus on
musical elements as you listen to the vocal tone, melodic lines, and rhythm of
the song, texture, and form.

BRIEF INTRODUCTION
Bagobo tribe are identified for their beautiful woven textile called t’nalak made from
a deep dark brown abaca fiber.
T’boli tribe also known as “dream weaver” of the Lake Sebu, also well-known with
their elaborated beadworks, stunning brass ornaments and the famous t’nalak.

(Mosaic- is a pattern made up of small regular or irregular shapes or pieces
to create a beautiful artwork)
Materials: Assorted colored papers, scissors, glue or paste, pen or pencil, short
bond paper
Procedures:
1. Draw your own design of vinta using short bond paper.
2. Carefully cut your assorted colored papers into small pieces.
3. Piece by piece gently glue or paste into your design. Make it sure that
there is no space in between.
4. Continue until you achieve your desired outcome. (see picture).

BRIEF INTRODUCTION
Emotional and Mental Health management is a key to improving once self. Stress
management will help student achieve what they want in their life. Since they know
what their priorities in life are.
Stress is defined as the physiological and emotional responses to a significant or
unexpected change or disruption in one’s life. (Payne, et al., 2005).
Stressor refers to the things that make a person stressed.
As a student they need to know what their eustress and distress are to handle
things properly. Stress management skills are techniques that can be used to cope with
the harmful effects produced by stress. Thinking positive at all times, having a smiley
face and laughing are the best ways to lessen the stress in life.
