e Filipino Nationalism

Spain colonized the Phillipines for over 333 years. During those years,
Filipinos or the natives suffered.
A lot were killed, abused, and enslaved. The
policies and regulations of Spanish made for Filipinos was inhumane because
of this the Filipinos revolt. During the time of Dr. Jose Rizal, the Filipinos were
inspired to be free from the spanish colonization and they were enlightened
and that's were there nationalism and patriotism arose. On july 1892, La Liga
Filipinas was founded, which aims to gain equality for the natives and the
Spaniards because they were tired from the ruthless action of the Spaniard.
However, the La Liga Filipinas failed and that's when the Filipino thought that
the Spaniards can't negotiate in peaceful manner then that's when the
Katipunan was established led by Andres Bonifacio. This action of the
Filipinos truly show how much they love their country because they are willing
to sacrifice their life so that the Philippines will free from the colonist even
though there are many lives that were lost and sacrificed but look at what we
are now, its because of the nationalism they have.

obliged to pay tribute to the Spaniards. However, because of the power the
this colonist hold during this time, this sytem was abused. The natives revolt
because of the reason that the Spaniards is forcing Filipinos to accept and
convert into Christianity. They also want to replace our primary language into
spanish, and they make Filipinos suffered by enforcing extreme labor.

The Revolts of the Natives occurred because of the inhumane policies

regulations that the Spaniards were imposing on the Filipinos. It's like Filipinos are
foreigners in their own country. They don't have freedom of expression in their own
land, and that's when they feel that it's enough.
