Skills Assessment of Bachelor of Physical Education Students: A Basis for an

Enhancement Program
 What is the basis of your recommendations?
- Since, this study will give a deeper understanding of how competent the BPED
students are in terms of Sports, Dance, Coaching, and Officiating. Therefore, we
the researchers conclude that the overall results were interpreted as competent. So,
BPED students are encouraged to attend different training or seminars to enhance
their skills to become an expert as future Physical Education Teacher.
- Most of the BPED students are competent so we need to make a program in order
for them to become an expert.

 What is your study all about?


- Our study is about Skills Assessment A Basis for Enhancement Program. It is

 What did you learn from your research?


- I learned that there are some BPED students in Bago City College who are not

experts when it comes to Sports, Dance, Coaching, and Officiating. So we

researchers recommend that the Bachelor of Physical Education students undergo

different programs that will help them to address their weaknesses and strengthen

the skills that they have. Seminar and Workshop on Enhancing Specialized Skills

in Physical Education.

 What type of background research have you done in this topic?


- We look for existing studies, We evaluate the studies if there is a research gap.

 What limitations did you encounter?


- The struggles in gathering and needed headcount were encountered due to limited
class. So, the researchers were not able to meet the expected number of
respondents.

 How did you gather data?


- We gathered data by utilizing a Google form to conduct our study on the chosen
respondents.

 What are your researchers variables?


- Our research variables we have dependent and independent variables. The
dependent variable is the skills assessment which contains the respondents profile
and the four areas which are namely Sports, Dance, Coaching, and Officiating.
And our Independent Variable we have an enhancement program.

 How our study can benefit the parents?


- It can benefit in the sense that their child is planning to enroll in a BPED course.
Their children will not only be competent but will be able to an experts in terms of
Dancing, Sports, Coaching, and Officiating.

 Did you bridge any gaps in your study?


- Yes, by conducting research that is related to existing studies. So this gap became
our basis for conducting the skills assessment.
- Some research studies tackle skills assessment and they assist it but there is no
recommended program. However, in this study that we conducted have a
recommended program to assist the skills of BPED students in Bago City College.

 Why did you use quantitative research?


- Since we have the targeted number of respondents. It is essential to use the
quantitative method.
What is the strength of your study?
- This study could help future researchers as well as the BPED students of Bago
City College to enhance their skills.
- To mold the skills of students who were enrolled in Bachelor of Physical
Education program in terms of Sports, Dance, Coaching, and officiating.
- If the BPED students in Bago City College have expert skills when it comes to
Sports, Dance, Coaching, and Officiating. They can compete with different bigger
universities. One of the examples of this is the Larong Pambansa, which can be the
pride of Bago City College if one of the students in Bachelor of Physical Education
has been chosen.

What is the weakness of your study?


- The number of students.
- We did not meet the 270 number of respondents because of the limited face-to-
face. However, we were able to utilize to gather the data needed through online.
