Day-6

December 12th

The guava’s I bought from a local fruit vendor was of 50 RS per kg.

The oranges I bought from my nearest mandi was of 30 RS per kg.

So there was a difference of almost 20 RS. And the fruits and

vegetables in mandi was very cheaper and affordable when compared
with the local fruit vendor and the quality of the fruit was almost
identical

CONCLUSION
After doing this sustainable challenge for 7 days

On day 1 I only used cloth bag for shopping, by doing this I reduced the plastic wastage and
finally took a little step towards saving environment

On day 2 I segregated my waste into 2 parts, one was dry waste and other basket was of
wet waste this helped the people of agra nagar nigam to collect it separately and therefore
dispose each type of waste accordingly

On day 3 we only used E-rickshaw and walking to commute to our institute instead of using
our cars and causing pollution, we booked a rickshaw and pooled it to save electricity and
money

On day 4 I used my old D.H.A papers which was of no use to wrap a gift for a child. Doing
this I did not have to buy new wrapping paper and my old paper which was useless to me
and was going to wind up in the dustbin found a way to add value

On day 5 I planted a tulsi sapling and gave my contribution to preserve the environment

On day 6 I compared the rates of local fruit vendor and the vendor in the nearest mandi and
found out that there is a huge difference in price when comparing both

On the last day I sold all my junk to the local kabadi wala and I was able to extract 500 rs
from that transaction. The junk which was a waste of me was able to earn me some money

And by doing this sustainability challenge I was left with a feel-good factor. As I knew by
doing my part I was contributing to saving the environment and realised that our usual day
to day activities was harming the environment and by bringing a little bit of change in these
activities we could live a sustainable life
