Antlers, in dark brown, make 2:

Crochet a chain of 6, into the 2nd chain from the hook, work 3 sc, then ch2,

Make both antlers the same, the left and the right one, but sew the left antler to
the head wrong side facing. (When you look at the head of the reindeer, you will
see the wrong side of the left antler and the right side of the right antler).
Break the yarn, leaving an end of about 10 cm [4 in] for sewing to the head.

wind the yarn around the
initial sts, forming an oval-
shaped nose as shown in the
photo below:

After the nose has been completed, embroider one stitch with black thread, from
the center of the nose down the muzzle:

Pin the muzzle to the head with tailor pins between Rounds 8 and 12, then sew
on.

Cinch for shaping. The photo below shows the cinching points. Fasten the
cinching thread at the bottom of the head (shown by arrows), and exit the needle
at Point 1, then insert the needle into Point 2, and exit at the bottom of the head.
Cinch taut, pulling with medium strength. Repeat the same for the second eye
socket. Exit the needle at Point 3, and insert into Point 4. Exit the needle at the
neck, cinch.

Sew the eyes into recessed sockets resulting from cinching, between Rounds 8

Underneath each eye, embroider a single stitch with white thread (held double).

A little secret:
To prevent the thread
from slipping under the
eye, apply a drop of
glue from the tip of a
sewing needle into the
center and at the sides
of the stitch, if desired.

Using tailor pins, pin the antlers between Rounds 4 and 5, check for symmetry,
then sew them on.

Affix the ears slightly below, between Rounds 6 and 7, then sew them on, and exit
the ends of the thread under eyes, next to the muzzle:

For the eyelids, first make one long diagonal stitch, fastening it securely by sewing
it onto the head:

13

Fill in volume for the eyelids by winding the thread around the initial stitch. Make
the second eyelid the same way.

After the eyelids have been completed, embroider eyebrows with black thread:

In the spot where the light-

colored part of the chest is,
now use the beige tail left
earlier for sewing on the
head.

The arms will be attached using the thread joint method, to keep them poseable.
Should you need additional help for this method, please refer to my video.

Using tailor pins, temporarily attach the legs between Rounds 4 and 5, and the
arms between Rounds 13 and 14.
After having checked for symmetry, sew the legs on.
I attached the legs in a fixed seated position.

Hide all ends on the inside of the body, except for one, which will be used to

crochet the tail. Exit this end at the lower back, use the needle to create a

beginning loop and crochet ch2 into this loop, then work 5 sc into this same

stitch. Stitch the end of the yarn through the body several times, then break it.

Scarf, beginning with red yarn.

1. Crochet a chain of 6, into the 2nd ch from the hook, work 5 sc
2. Ch1 for height adjustment and turn work to the other side, work through
one loop of the stitch only – 5 sc.
3. Join white yarn, repeat Row 2.
4. Repeat Row 2 once more.

16

Do not cut the yarn when changing colors. Continue the scarf, alternating
colors for the stripe sequence: 2 rows in red, 2 rows in white, etc. End with
red.
The scarf in the photos has 90 rows – 46 red and 44 white ones.

After the scarf has been

completed, hide all ends.
