Supplies
 1 strand of embroidery floss (I used textured floss Cloud by Gamma):
 - grey (for head, head, ears, arms, and legs)
 - black (for horns, hooves, and tail tip)
 - white (for muzzle and belly)
You can use sewing threads. The finer the thread, the smaller the toy.
 Black sewing thread (for nostrils embroidery)
 A piece of white thread for eye whites embroidery (I used Iris by Gamma)
 2-3 mm eyes.
 A piece of textured white yarn for ears decoration
 Thread for needle sculpting (double cotton sewing thread will do)
 Oil pastel and toothpick (for toning)
 0.5 mm hook
 Gel super glue
 Thin strong needle
 Sharp manicure scissors, pliers
 Fiber filler (for stuffing)
 Toothpick or a broken felting needle (to use as a stuffing tool)

Abbreviations (US terms)

• sc – single crochet
• inc – increase (work 2 sc to one st)
• dec – decrease PLEASE NOTE! Skip 1 st to decrease if you crochet from
• embroidery floss, as it is easier than working 2 sts together. If you are using
• hook size bigger than 0.75 mm, use regular decreases.
• mr – magic/amigurumi ring
• ch – chain
• sl st – slip stitch

Work all the rounds spirally, a total number of stitches is stated in brackets
at the end of each round. I work wrong side out from this yarn. It is when
the initial yarn tail stays on the outside. This way the toy looks furrier.

Decoration:
Sew the white belly to the body. Embroider a cross-shaped belly button in the
middle using black sewing thread.

Do the head needle sculpting referring to the points in the photo below. To do
this, secure the thread below the head. Extract the needle in point 1, then enter
point 2 and come out below the head. Pull tightly. Repeat for points 3 and 4.

Attach the eyes into the obtained eye pits. Use super glue: add a drop to the tip of
the needle, then apply glue under an eye using the needle and press the eye
firmly to the head.
Please note: the eyes should be positioned between rounds 7 and 8, almost next to
the muzzle. Make the eyes 8 sc apart.
Make white stitches under each eye to add eye whites. Secure the eye whites
with glue.
Embroider nostrils on the muzzle using black sewing thread. They should be
between rounds 2 and 3.

Sew the ears onto the top of the donkey's head, and bring out the remaining
ends of the stitches under each eye.

Make eyelids with the remaining threads from the ears.

To do this, make a diagonal stitch above an eye (you can leave it like that - looks
just as cute), then you need to secure the stitch sewing it to the head carefully

with short stitches. Add volume to the eyelid winding the thread around the initial
stitch. Make the second eyelid alike.

Embroider bulky eyebrows in white.

Touch up the area between the eyes and the eyelids using oil pastel and a
toothpick.
Do the mouth needle sculpting.
Do it as follows:
- secure the thread below the head;
- come out behind the left ear;
- then go to the bottom of the muzzle;
- and then with a 1-2 mm step go back up to the point behind the right ear;
- pull on the thread so that a little dent is shaped on the muzzle;
- secure the thread and weave in the ends inside the head.

11

Sew textured white yarn bits into the center of the base of each ear to create
fluffy ears.

Assembly:
You will attach the head and all the limbs with thread jointing. The head will be
also movable this way.
Sew the head to the body using the remaining yarn tail. The threaded needle
must both enter and exit the very same point on the body. For more details,
please see video.

Attach arms and legs using thread jointing method as shown in the video. Attach
legs between rounds 5 and 6 counting from the bottom of the body, attach the
arms between rounds 4 and 5 (from the top of the body).
Sew on the tail.
