METHODOLOGY

This chapter presents the methods that will be used in this study.

Research Design

Descriptive Correlational Design will utilized in the study to determine the

relationship between study habits and preferred learning styles of selected

Humanities and Social Sciences students of General Vito Belarmino Integrated

National High School.

According to Bhat, Descriptive Correlational Design is a type of research

design that tries to explain the relationship between two or more variables without

making any claims about cause and effect. It includes collecting and analyzing on

atleast two variables to see if there is a link between them.(2023)

Participants of the Study

The participants of the study are the Humanities and Social Sciences

students of General Vito Belarmino Integrated National High School. By selecting

the participants, the researcher use the cochran’s formula to know how many

respondents they need to conduct the survey. As a result of the computation, the

researcher needs 100 respondents from General Vito Belarmino Integrated

National High School.

Sampling Technique

This study will be using simple random technique to select the participants

randomly based on the number of Humanities and Social Sciences students of

General Vito Belarmino Integrated National High School


According to Thomas, simple random technique is a randomly selected

subject of a population. In this sampling method, each member of the population

has an exactly equal chance of being selected.(2023)

Data Gathering Procedure

Prior to the gathering of data, survey questionnaire must be validated. After

the validation process, it will be subjected to reliability test. Informed consent will be

explained and approved questionnaire will be distributed to the participants. After

retrieval of the questionnaire, it will be sorted-out, organized, tabulated and results

will be interpreted and analyzed.

Research Instrument

The following survey questionnaire will be used in this study. The Part I

questionnaire referred to Study habits which was adopted and modified from

The Part II pertained to preferred learning styles which was adopted and

modified from https//www.reseachgate.net/publication/266356106.
