Philosophy of Teaching

My philosophy of teaching my students is above all being able to communicate effectively with

my students. When I say communicate I mean being able to have my students understand what I

am teaching them while always stopping to ask for any questions. I also want my students to

know that asking questions is not a bad thing but it allows room for growth and learning. I also

want my students to be able to communicate with each other as well as communicating with me

as a teacher. I believe this is a good way to learn from not only me as their instructor but also

their peers. Making connections with each other I feel is very vital within a classroom and

offers students support outside of just the teacher. I also want to be as flexible as my students

need me to be. The reason I want flexibility within my classroom is because for example every

student isn’t a verbal learner, some students are hands-on so I would need to be able to

accommodate each and every one of my students in order to ensure that the same knowledge is

being obtained for all and not just some. I will also bring discipline to my students by teaching

them to be organized while in class while also incorporating creative things to keep them

engaged. My ultimate goal is to make students as comfortable as possible and make the learning

environment the very best I possibly can. I will rely heavily on my students' test results because

not only does that let me know how much my students are obtaining while I am teaching but it

also shows what areas I need to improve my teaching skills to better accommodate all of my

students' needs. My vision is to promote a cooperative play environment where my students can

not only learn from me as a teacher but also from each other. I believe this creates bonds and

some form of understanding within students. My goal while teaching is to be able to plan lessons
according to my students ability to learn in a variety of ways. Also to be able to reduce teacher

guided lectures because I want my students to be able to interact with each other and to not

always depend on me but also rely on their peers for extra assistance. An additional goal that I

wish to accomplish is to help students develop vocabulary skills necessary to be successful

students and members of society. Some expectations from my personal teaching philosophy is

to in general be able to show my students that I care for them through my teaching and personal

connections that I plan to make with each student individually. Also to show students that each

and every one of them can learn and also giving students recognition when they are putting in the

effort to learn, just so that they know that I care not only for the right answer but also the work

that the student had to do to get to the answer. All in all, I want each student to feel accepted and

know that they are important and learning is an opportunity to grow and develop within a

classroom.
