My Personal Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy revolves around the fact that my students are leaders of tomorrow. They
must have skills to exposit their ideas and knowledge to others. I believe every student is genius
in his/her own way and we as teachers are here to polish their skills.
I believe skillful teacher tries to build good relationship with her students based on respect and
trust. When I think of my role, I’ve always focused on my relationship with students. I really
enjoy having conversations with them regarding subject, their real life problems and future plans.
I try to guide them on the basis of my own personal experiences. I have always wanted my
classroom to be less of a class and more like group of people who are sharing their ideas and
knowledge. This is the reason I prefer middle and senior school students because the maturity
level of these students help them to clearly articulate their own feelings and thoughts.
I believe that we as teachers must give freedom to our students so that they can express
themselves and we must also give them a room to grow. A teacher must always be the first one
to open the doors of effective communication. I try to communicate my expectations to my class
so that they have a clear idea of how to perform. I’m certain that my sincere attitude towards my
students and their life builds the block of mutual respect because, this way me and my students
understand each other’s point of view.
In my opinion, a skillful teacher understands the importance of building a secure network for
students to share their beliefs and thus create a welcoming environment for all of her students. I
believe diverse students help us in creating better learning environment as students get to learn
more from each other’s experiences. As mentioned earlier, skill based learning is the future in
my perspective and I try to enhance such skills of my students.
Apart from all these things, I also feel that the best approach to stimulate learning is for the
instructor to be enthusiastic about the content being studied, even if her students aren't. A teacher
must perform the role of a coach and cheerleader, emphasizing the positive aspects of each
student's work while also providing constructive feedback.
Every day, I try to enter my classroom with an open mind, a cheerful attitude, and high
expectations. I believe I owe it to all my students, as well as the community, to bring stability,
persistence, and hopes of inspiring and encouraging these qualities in the youngsters.
A teacher must be dedicated towards lifelong learning and must try to contribute as much as she
can. Thus, I would say my educational philosophy is based on what I’ve learned and encountered
so far in my career. As a young professional, I am confident that my teaching perspective will
evolve further over time because one of the benefits of being human is that we may make errors,
learn new things and then try to make positive changes. I'm looking forward to the possibilities
that lay ahead.
