SOP for Post Graduate Admission:

After my undergraduate study in civil & environmental engineering and four years professional
experience I feel completely satisfied with my decision to choose engineering as my career option. My
primary objectives in seeking a post graduate degree in civil engineering is to acquire advance
knowledge to solve technical problems in construction industry.

My current research interest is “Performance based study on cost effective ground improvement
techniques & its application in construction industry”. Due to the rapid growth of population & fast
urbanization, engineers have to construct infrastructure on soft & weak soils, I think this kind of research
work will play great role in sustainable development.

I am also interested in “Comparative analysis of multi-story structure into RCC & PEB”. PEB structures
are more advantageous in terms of quality control, cost effectiveness, speedy construction. That’s why I
think PEB methodology should be researched for more outputs.

Professional Experience:
My four years’ professional experience includes a thorough knowledge & understanding of reinforced
cement concrete structure & pre-fabricated steel structure industry, especially for industrial &
commercial building. I am experienced in project management, project scheduling, quantity takeoff,
preparation of project proposal, bidding documents preparation, cost idea for a project, preparing bill of
quantity (BOQ). I also have working experience in procurement & supply chain management for
reinforced cement concrete structure & pre-fabricated steel structure. I started my job as a project
engineer in a construction firm named “Nibir Nirman Architects & Engineers”. My first project was 23 rd
storied high rise building for Meridian Novotel Chittagong, it was a four-star hotel project. this project is
supervised under international PMC firm named “Ascentis India Project Private Limited”. Then I started
working as a project manager in the same company for construction & completion of 132/33 KV AIS
substation at kachua, 132/33 KV substation at kalurghat, sholoshor, sitakunda & upgradation of existing
AIS substation to GIS substation on turnkey basis. Then I started working as a tendering engineer at head
office. As a tendering engineer my job responsibility was rate analysis for bidding, preparing bidding
documents & project proposal, preparing BOQ for upcoming projects, preparing time schedule for
upcoming projects etc.

Then I started working as an entrepreneur, as an entrepreneur I had constructed single storied truss
building (Approx:90000 sft) for temporary facilities at matarbari coal powerplant, two storied industrial
shed building (Build area:75000 sq.ft) at mawna, Gazipur.

Undergraduate Thesis:
My undergraduate thesis title is “Earthquake resistant frame sections for multistoried building
using ETABS with different irregular plan configuration for allowable drift”
In that project the dynamic behaviors were closely observed & suitable frame sections for
allowable drift were determined.
