HIGH TIME Present Perfect – Talking about Experiences

We use the present perfect simple to talk about EXPERIENCES.

Look at the form: HAVE (I, YOU, WE, THEY) or HAS (HE, SHE, IT) + 3RD COLUMN/PAST PARTICIPLE

Let’s write some sentences? Below you’ll find affirmative ones to talk about experience:

1. I have eaten(eat) lobster. And you?


2. Sonia has visited(visit) every country in Europe.
3. My brothers have been(be) to Germany.
4. We have finished (finish) the exercise.
5. I have had(have) a shower already.

How about experiences you haven’t had? Write negative sentences:

1. I haven’t seen (see) a horror movie.


2. I haven’t eaten(eat) spiders.
3. My mother hasn’t been (be) to Alaska.
4. John and Kate haven’t gotten (get) married.
5. Henry hasn’t finished (finish) his exercise yet.

To make questions, we can’t forget to write auxiliary verbs ‘have’ or ‘has’ at the beginning of the sentence. Look at
the example:

Have you finished your exercise? Or Has Louis brought the food?
