Positive Behavior Interventions Supports

PBIS is a work for supporting a whole school practice. This helps school learn social, behavioral

and needs for all students. All parents want their children to go to a school that supports

Positive Interventions. Schools still are learning how to go about things, like Interventions.

Interventions also have some disadvantages; they can be good for some students but not all.

PBIS is used in classroom by expectations and rules. Classrooms full of students need

to have rules. They will stay on track when the teacher has given them rules. Another PBIS is

Maximize structure this means, having a safe and supportive classroom environment for

students. All classrooms should have a safe classroom environment. Another PBIS is student

engagement, this means when teacher is teaching, the students' needs to be engaging in the

lesson. It will be successful in different grades because all grades have rules. PBIS may be

included more in middle school. In middle school

Disadvantages of PBIS, is schools mostly get caught up in punishing students. There are

concerns that PBIS causes a negative environment. Some people say that it punishes good kids.

The kids that are mostly on tasks may not get rewarded as much. PBIS does have a few

advantages, one is PBIS offers teachers a lot of positive things. It creates behavior goals for

teachers and students. It can make students get used to being rewarded with everything they

do. In Clinch County if a student is off task, the teacher will give them two chances and if that

does not work the principal will come down.

In conclusion, PBIS can be either good or bad. I just depend on what schools decide to do.

Parents at every school want their children to be safe, loved and enjoy school. Some parents

think that PBIS is only going to cause damage to their children. There are going to be

disadvantages and advantages with PBIS. All classrooms have rules and expectations, this is

because of PBIS. Teachers wants what best for their students.
