TASK :

Malaysia is moving ahead with efforts to restart the economy, having initially halted
activity in mid-March under the Movement Control Order (MCO) to contain the spread of Covid-
19. In order to restart the economic activities, on 1 May, the country’s Prime Minister, Muhyiddin
Yassin, announced that most of the businesses in the country will be allowed to resume businesses
from 4 May, while adhering to strict health standard operating procedures (SOP).

COVID-19 is a public health emergency. Everyone needs to assess and manage the risks
of COVID-19 and in particular construction industry should consider the risks to their workers and
visitors. As an employer, you also have a legal responsibility to protect workers and others from
risk to their health and safety. This means you need to think about the risks they face and do

everything reasonably practicable to minimize them, recognizing you cannot eliminate the risk of
COVID-19.

According to these, the government has issued new SOPs for construction industry under
the fourth phase of MCO. The companies are required to submit construction projects
information to the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) to commence operations.

Therefore, for this case study all groups have to prepare (Act as Site Safety Officer/ Site Safety
Supervisor):
i. Discuss a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) at Construction Site during the
pandemic COVID-19.
ii. The SOP must cover all aspects involved in the construction site.
iii. Present your own POSTER of SOP at construction site during pandemic Covid-19
using any modern tools.
iv. Convert your poster to PDF format.
v. Perform your own VIDEO that describes the situation and conditions at the
construction site during this COVID -19 pandemic (Max : 3 minutes only).
vi. Your report must also have INTRODUCTION the current situation about pandemic
COVID-19, CONCLUSION and REFERENCES
vii. Due date : 12/12/2021 (before 12.00 am).
