SCIENCE
 Science provides natural explanations for apparent phenomena.
 Science investigates new information through experiments and observation.
 Focuses on ethical process of gathering data.
 In science the goal is achieved through corresponding scientific process.
 Science is the study of structure and behavior of natural and physical world, to create premises.
 Science is concerned with the pursuit of knowledge about nature

TECHNOLOGY
 Technology is tools, including methods, that assist people in accomplishing tasks.
 Technology deals with putting those premises into practice
 Technology refers to the process of applying scientific knowledge in practical applications for various
purposes.
 It advances the standard of living in societies by making human life more comfortable and convenient.
 Technology is to create products that solve problems and improve human life
 Technology is concerned with putting the knowledge of nature to some use

SOCIETY
 A large group of people who live together in an organized way, making decisions about how to do things
and sharing the work that needs to be done.
 A community, nation, or broad grouping of people having common traditions, institutions, and collective
activities and interests
 A group of individuals involved in persistent social interaction, or a large social group sharing the same
spatial or social territory, typically subject to the same political authority and dominant cultural
expectations.

SIMILARITIES OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY


 Both utilize for advancement the properties of the physical world, equipment, intellectual input,
methodology, verification by repetition
 Both science and technology involve the study and application of knowledge and principles.
 Both science and technology seek to understand and explain the world around us.
 Both science and technology involve experimentation and testing to confirm or disprove theories.
 Both science and technology can be used to solve problems and improve our lives.
 Both utilize for advancement the properties of the physical world, equipment, intellectual input,

SIMILARITIES OF SCIENCE AND SOCIETY


 Science contributes significantly to the production of knowledge and thus contributes to the functioning of
democracies, drives innovation and helps countries to be competitive in the global economy.
 Directly influenced by the interests and needs of society and often direct their research towards topics that
will serve society.
 Using science involves understanding its context in society and its limitations.
 It contributes to ensuring a longer and healthier life, monitors our health, provides medicine to cure our
diseases, alleviates aches and pains, helps us to provide water for our basic needs.
 Science responds to societal needs and global challenges.

SIMILARITIES OF TECHNOLOGY AND SOCIETY


 The more the society is advanced, the more it encourages technology, and, as a result, the more it gets
changed due to technology.
 the more rapid the technological change, the more rapid is the social change that it generates.
 Technology affects the life of people and changes the way of their learning, thinking, and communication.
 Technology, brings together tools to promote development, use and information exchange, has as its main
objective of making tasks easier and the solving of many problems of mankind.

SIMILARITIES OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND SOCIETY


 Science and technology contribute to society in creating new knowledge, and then utilization of that
knowledge to boost the prosperity of human lives, and to solve the various issues facing society.
 Society, in turn, shapes the development of science and technology. Societal values, beliefs, and needs
influence the direction of scientific research and the development of new technologies.
 Scientific research and development of new technologies can bring about changes in the way society live,
work, and interact with each other.
