Rhythm Among Us
T will have the students take out a piece of scrap paper and prepare them for the
upcoming game of rhythm among us.
T will explain game to S
T will read the directions of the game as they come up on the screen, pausing after
to answer any questions that S may have.
T will instruct students to write down each color and whether or not they think that
they are an imposter or a crewmate.
T will let the video play though, pausing after each color to allow students time to
process/write their answer
Repeat the above step until all 12 colors have played a rhythm.
T will then narrate each color and response as it shows on the screen.
S will mark answers right and wrong for their own records as answers are revealed.
T will ask S generally how they did.
Raise your hand if you got half the questions right. Raise your hand if you got 7
right, etc.

Pencils as Drumsticks Mini Lesson
T will have S take out two pens or pencils, allowing S to borrow if they do not have
enough
T will instruct S to take their pointer finger, stick it out, then curl it up.
T will then instruct S to place the pen or pencil, ink or led facing towards them into
the crease of their finger about a quarter of the way down.
T will then have S move their thumb to hold their pen/pencil in a pinch type fashion
T will instruct S to curl the rest of their fingers around the pencil.
T will explain that S should be using a soft light grip.
T will offer a S to pull on their pencil to show how light the grip should actually be.
T will then have S replicate the grip in their other hand, lining their hands up to
check and see if the grips will match.
When all S grips are matched, T will have S strike the top of the music stands to
make a sound.
T will have S alternate striking with R hand then L hand and varied speeds.
T will play a rhythm and students will have to play that rhythm back to the T
Repeat the above two steps until S are able to repeat rhythms with little to no
problems.

T will have S look at the guidelines first, talking them through what they need to do
and the requirements for the project.
