Indicators for Proficient Mathematics Teachers
Introduction:
The "Revisiting and Restating the Updated Criteria for Classroom Observation Indicators
for Proficient Mathematics Teachers" (LAC Session) held on October 6, 2023 at ALS Room,
Mayamot National High School provided an insightful and comprehensive exploration of the
revised DepEd Order 008, series of 2023, focusing on classroom observation indicators. The
session was graced by four distinguished speakers, each bringing a wealth of knowledge and
expertise to the forefront. The session aimed to equip mathematics teachers with a deeper
understanding of the updated criteria for classroom observations.
Speaker 1: Aaron James Lico - Introduction to DepEd Order 008, Series of 2023
Aaron James Lico opened the session with a detailed introduction to DepEd Order 008,
Series of 2023. He highlighted the importance of this order in shaping classroom observation
practices in the education system. Mr. Lico emphasized the need for proficient mathematics
teachers to be aware of these updates to enhance their teaching practices and maintain a high
standard of education.
Ms. Lenie A. Lopez took the stage to delve into the specific classroom observation
indicators. She began by discussing Indicator 4, which revolves around the proficient use of the
mother tongue, Filipino, and English to facilitate teaching and learning. She emphasized the
significance of language in effective instruction and learning outcomes.

The final speaker, Mrs. Imelda B. Golles, addressed Indicators 8 and 9. She commenced
