Essay

Student Name – Student ID :Le Phu Thanh - 103572379

After one year working and studying in Softdreams - Technology and trading
investment Joint stock company and currently i’m a part of Marketing -
content pr team as editor, producers of company’s video and managing
company’s youtube channel . This Workfolio is tothe work in Softdreams ,what
i've been experienced as company's internship and how working with
Softdreams could be my big opportunity in the future

Company introduction

Softdreams Technology and Trading Investment Joint Stock Company ( referred as Softdreams) was
established on September 9, 2012 by Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment, with various
activities in the field of development. Software development, information technology for businesses and
governments. With the slogan “ Taking Coporate Management to the next level”, Softdreams promises
to be the leading company when it comes to supplying convenient products and smart technology plarforms
for people who are working in small or big business and slowly getting rid of old - fashioned working style
with their new technology. There are 4 current products Softdreams developing are

EasyBOOKS - Accounting Software


EasyDOCS - Contract Software
EasyPOS - Smart bills software
EasyHRM - Smart Timekeeping software

As mentioned above, i’m currently working in Softdreams Marketing and PR department of Softdreams, and
there are over 3 main tasks are available in Marketing and Pr team including
Content writers ( 2 members): Supporting company’s content from social media posts to Script and ideas
for Commercial video to support editors
Graphic designer and team’s manager ( 2 members) : Designing posters for company’s event and
conference and pictures to support company’s posts on social media) also is the person who’s giving
constructive feedbacks for content writter and editors activities what to improve
Website designer ( 1 member) : Designing Websites for each of company’s product and Softdreams’ main
website
Video editors and managing youtube channel ( 1 member): In charge of video production ( filming,
Directing, editing) from product introduction, commercial videos and product tutorial videos and post on
company’s official media channel ( mainly Youtube) which is the role that i’m working on as internship for
Softdreams

To develop new content for upcoming products or updating product’s new feature to promote its image,
Marketing department always get and update information of new products from different sources.
Firstly, me with 2 members from content writing members joining a class from IT/ Developing devices team
to study about the technology, features and its use for the work so we could understand the products
clearly
Secondly, the marketing team will have a private meeting to share the notes of information from what us
have received from “ product understanding” class and discuss about what the video should be like and
gather all around apply on the content for commercial posts and videos.
The company’s youtube channel which is the company’s media channel that i’m in charge of
posting and managing are being divided into many various contents, as the only editor i always
have to figure out the fresh, good looking edit style to fit with the company’s leading the
product’s image

channel’s content will be developed the videos about the products and focus on the latest features of
the product:
● Before the conference,meeting from different business to introduce the new products,
the TVC video will be produced and uploaded on Company’s official youtube
channel,
● Currently , from June to August, Softdreams helding an Online Conference for entire
business in Vietnam to introduce, guide and promote product called Easybooks-
Accounting software on every saturday night from 8pm -10pm on Zoom and along
with the talk from guests and hosts, the meeting will include the videos about the
latest features of Easybooks which is the videos that i’m working

REFLECTIVE ESSAY
The company’s main customers mostly are people who are working in different business ( local
and international business) so whenever working on the videos, the content and editing members
always have to brainstorm to figure out the detail but understandable content for the products.
Especially when Easybooks just released new features for its platform, the Marketing /pr team
have to think about the content that could be easily conveyed the difference of the new products
from older features, build the brand name to impress the investors who joining the conference
In every first day of working week, the marketing team will have a small private meeting with
company’s administrative council to give out the plans for upcoming Easybooks conference on
saturday from the show’s timeline; minigame; hosts, guests talk. And then the entire crew will
have a meeting to discuss about the contents for social media posts, commercial videos to show
on saturday’s conference
After meeting , two members who in charge of writing content started to work on the script and
divided them into different media channels from facebook posts and youtube videos.
Softdreams also created a company’s main group where the members of the company could
give Pr marketing team feedbacks and discuss the plans around the conference and when it
comes to the quality of the scripts and videos called “SDS Conference Marketing” . When the
script was finished , it will be sent over the Zalo group to check and approve by the members of
the company including IT department, sale team and administrative council. After getting
approved, the script will be sent back to editor which is me to read and figure out the way to
edit. As the script included the recommended shots, scenes, animation,. Based on the
experience i ever been through with Major class Media content creation ( JOU 10007)
Swinburne University i’ve learned about divided different angles, shots when we done
photography and video essay and required shots like wide shot,mid shot,close up and how the
shots should be done perfectly and applied on the creating perfect shots and animate the scenes
during production process
so i could easily know what to do with the video and stick into it. Quynh- which is one of the
content writers, she also conrtributed to the video as narrator. She recorded her voice for each
scene and forwarded back to me so i could include her voice in the video. While the
commercial video was in the making, an event’s poster was being done by graphic designer
from our team which is about the saturday conference will be posted daily on facebook and
company spent money on Facebook ads to run the post to promote the event along with the
posts will be divided into different categories, from answering the questions that users and
business who always wondering about the products
In 2 days before the conference , the video will be finished and sent to the Conference event
department group on Zalo and again, the members will give me and the team ‘s constructive
video what the video should be improved and corrected them as the request from the members
so the video could be well- groomed before the main event
After the conference successed, the team will have a rest after hard-working week and on
monday, the team had a meeting with entire Softdreams crew to receive feedbacks about the
last conference and ready for another conference on following week
Through the time working in Softdreams along with studying in Swinburne, i’ve improved a lot
of skills particularly, especially when it comes to editing skills and my contributing ability,
working on the editing process for me to be the most important in the team. First of all, is that
the targeted customer of Softdreams mostly are men and women who are working in their own
business and all they hoping and trusting in Softdreams is a platform, a technology that could be
their own friend to support for their agency especially with the rise of era 4.0 when technology
is everywhere. The technology products are important to support the development of a business
and according to Centria University, politics also being related to advertising. By the end, the
need of political development of the country and the politics itself. This function of advertising
is very needed in the society we’re living ( Ossi Päiväläinen, 2014). Because of that the videos
that i made i always think about the editing styles that could be easily transmitted to the
customer, the effects might not be too complicated or not too fussy , the important thing is going
straight to the main point of the products and its function and illustrate it in simple but effective
way. A promotional video is every important to push the impress of the company’s image under
public’s eyes. According to Shootingreels, content marketing campaign contributes 34%
increase of conversion rates and leads to bigger sales ( February 2022)

At first when i haven’t started working in Softdreams, i always told myself to make the video
beautiful, using complicated, good looking effects to make the video to be impressive under
customer’s eyes as possible because I thought a good looking video might be opportunity to
gain customers. But my team leader- Mr Duy has told me to be humble since i’m just internship
and doing this kind of effects might be too much for me and wasting time since i have to work
on different video and my university business. His opinion was that it doesn’t need to be high-
quality produced to attract customer, the important thing is , i must focus on what the company
wants to highlight because they’re customers, not the movie critics so don’t expect the video to
be too perfect,atleast the clear, understandable quality and beautifully done is enough and gave
what customers what they can expect from our products. Two important things i’ve learned
when i worked with Marketing pr department team was the communication and teamwork. At
first i was a little embarrassed to share what i’m thinking with my partners so sometimes while
working on the video, i changed some of the script and replaced different scenes without asking
members to change so i got into a small fight with the content members for changing ideas
without asking for permission. So after listening to team’s advice and change myself, i started to
listen to the team’s opinion more and contribute my own comment on the work

To work on the videos, the biggest pressure i always met which is the changing . The changing
could be from any different things, sometimes it was from the leaders’s order ,sometimes it was
from team’s discussion so i always have to edit back things and even started to work on again
and sometimes 1 or 2 days before the event i have to start all over again just to edit again from
what the leader has requested to change.While we working on the ideas for the video, we always
doing researches the example of company’s product video from other companies . I always
search for videos from a company which is Softdreams’s rival called “ Misa” to understand the
professionalism of Misa in video production and content so we could apply on our production.
That’s also what i’ve learned from fundamental marketing class ( MKT 10007) and Introduction
of Public Relations Theory and Practice ( PUB 10001) in Swinburne University about
Competitve Analysis, which is a strategy involves researching major competitors to gain insight
into their products, sales, and marketing tactics. Creating creative strategies to build stronger
branding images, and capturing market share are just a few benefits of conducting a competitive
market analysis. Also to support the management on social media which is the Softdreams’s
youtube channel that i’m managing, i used, the information i've received from major class
Network selves ( MDA 20003) about social media activism to know about running campaign
for Softdreams’s event through social media platforms.

To sum up, i think the journey with Softdreams was incredibly the best experience i’ve been so
far because in Softdreams is my opportunity to use the skills based on what i’ve learned in
Swinburne to adapt on my work. i’ve met , interacted and worked with amazing people, learned
about what’s really supposed to be like when you’re really on the team , it’s a chance for me to
improve what i’ve missed and my narcissism and started listening and following team’s opinion
and enthusiastically contribute my work and opinion to them. Sometimes it’s tiring when i have
to re-edit things over again but that’s when i learned the reality that i’d have to face things like
this again when i actually in work, you can’t escape from this kind of situation, sometimes we
have to accept and listen more to make the work to be more effective
