Once upon a time, in the year 2020, there was a student named Luzia who was in her final

year of high school at

COBAEV.

Everything seemed normal until the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, completely changing everyone's lives.

One day, while playing volleyball on the school court, someone announced that the Government officially suspended
in-person classes throughout the state and that they had to enter quarantine. Luzia felt confused and anxious, but
her parents told her that it would all end soon and that it was important to follow the Government's instructions.
Gradually, the restriction measures intensified. First, classes and official activities were suspended, then places where
crowds gathered like concerts, parades, and festivals were closed. Even movie theaters closed their doors and
Cinépolis had to temporarily say goodbye to its customers.

March passed and April arrived, bringing with it the spring break that had to be spent at home. Although many said it
was boring, Luzia enjoyed the company of her parents, which was unusual since they were always busy working. Her
mother was constantly worried about her sister, who was pregnant and expecting twins.

Concern was also present for Luzia's godmother, who was a nurse and worked on the COVID floor at the General
State Hospital. Despite the risk, her godmother claimed to be taking all necessary precautions to protect herself.
However, there were crowds outside the hospital, where people seemed to have lost their sanity. Luzia and her
family feared for the safety of her godmother and all healthcare workers.
Despite everything, life went on. Classes were held virtually through platforms like YouTube, WhatsApp, Edmodo, or
Google Classroom. Teachers did their best to adapt and continue teaching. May came and Mexico remained in
lockdown, but some countries began to gain the upper hand against COVID and allowed children to go out.

Amidst the uncertainty, hope remained alive. Everyone longed for someone to find a vaccine or cure for the virus.
However, even Mexico's most prestigious university, UNAM, had to suspend its admission exam, which brought
despair to Luzia and her friends.

Despite the obstacles, Luzia tried to maintain a positive attitude. She celebrated her birthday virtually through
WhatsApp and Facebook, where many family members and friends joined the celebration. It was a different kind of
party, but full of love and support.
As time passed, people tried to find the best in the situation. Although many lost their jobs and there were human
losses due to the virus, some positive aspects also emerged. Pet adoptions in shelters increased significantly, and the
ozone hole over the Arctic completely closed. Additionally, the beach in Boca del Río looked incredibly clean and
beautiful, showcasing nature's resilience.
