Philosophy of technology focuses on significance, nature and how this branch of

philosophy have impact or why are we studying. And how can we gain experience In studying
technologies. The word technology comes from the greek techne and logos. Techne means skills,
art, craft, etc. Logos means word, an expression or a saying.
According to Andrew Feenberg, “Technology in this scheme of things encounters nature
as raw materials, not as a world that emerges out of itself, a physics, but rather as stuff awaiting
transformation into whatever we desire”. This means things that is with part of technology have
their own kind of existence that connected to the part of the world. The world was understood
mechanistically and not teleological that’s why so many people are obsessed in technology. One
of the impact of the technology in the society is Social Isolation, lack of relationship in families
and friends that’s people feel that they are lonely and depressed. The common cause of these are
major life stressor, Anxiety for example, anxiety is a feeling dread, fear, and uneasiness. This
will consume all your energy by spending time on technologies.
But they are some philosophers who support technology. According to Mumford, he
thought that “the clock was one of the technology that allowed capitalism to emerge because it
provided for synchronisation and for people to cooperate”. The fact that the time will determine
the people doings, like jobs and other people need to do. He stated that the clock provide people
to have a harmony in the world.
By following what time that clocks give. Technology helps us to made life easy and
comfortable by making communication faster and travel faster, making movements between
places easier, making actions quick, and easing interactions.
Emerging technologies, such as industrial robots, artificial intelligence, and machine
learning, all of these will get peoples job easier by making upgraded technologies in the future.
Nowdays technologies are more intelligent than the other humans that’s why we should lay low
making bests techonologies in order to give the society a harmony. We can consider that all of
the technologies are very helpful especially in our daily lives works.
