quality of life itself. Science has impacted how we live
and what we think since the invention of the plow.

developments, it is critical that we do not lose sight
of their societal implications. High-tech devices and
equipment make it easier to complete tasks.

5. What are the issues and challenges in Science, Technology and Society?
ANSWER:
The disadvantages of science and
technology are mostly due to how we utilize
science and technology, rather than science
and technology itself. Science and
technology are only tools, means to an end.
The following are some of the
disadvantages: (1) It resulted in inequity.
Countries that are more adept at employing
science and technology keep their
knowledge to themselves rather than sharing it with the rest of the world, resulting in certain countries
becoming more developed than others. (2) An overabundance of dependence on science and
technology has resulted in a widespread loss of local customs and traditions. (3) As a result of science
and technology, there has been an increase in cybercrime. (4) People are becoming hooked to their
electronic gadgets, which has been a major issue in the last ten years. (5) Finally, science and technology
have contributed to the reduction of human touch. We may be linked via WhatsApp, Facebook, and
other social media platforms, but there is a personal connection that is lacking. Science and technology,
on the other hand, have solved many difficulties and have generally benefited humanity. However, there
are a few problems that can be overcome if the motivations for adopting such a tool are understood.
