Answers of 1. To me, it represents the proactive measures taken to lessen the effects of calamities and
road map increase community resilience. DRRM is essential for protecting people, infrastructure, and the
journal environment in today's world because of climate change and the increasing frequency and
severity of natural catastrophes.
For example, in a mountainous area, DRRM might include building reinforced structures, early
warning systems for avalanches, and community education on evacuation routes. For instance,
constructing sturdy shelters and employing advanced weather monitoring can help minimize the
impact of avalanches, ensuring the safety of residents in the face of potential disasters.

2. After experiencing a very strong typhoon, it made me feel fear and uncertainty during the
storm, thinking about the potential damages to our property, and the challenges of securing basic
necessities like food and water in the aftermath. In terms of the community, we observed the
widespread damage to infrastructure, such as homes and roads. It causes the disruption of daily
life, potential displacement of families, and the collective effort required for recovery.

3. First is to have an emergency kit ready, including essential supplies such as non-perishable
food, water, first aid supplies, and important documents. Being prepared for evacuation with a
go-bag and having a family emergency plan in place is crucial. Next is to keep myself informed
about weather forecasts and heeding early warnings from local authorities. This could involve
having a reliable weather alert system, staying tuned to official announcements, and being aware
of evacuation routes and shelter locations.

4. First, educate myself like understanding the specific risks and hazards in the area. Know the
types of disasters that could occur and their potential impact. Staying informed about local
emergency plans and procedures. Second, is to create and maintain an emergency preparedness
kit that includes essential supplies such as water, non-perishable food, medications, first aid
items, important documents, and any other necessities for the family. Lastly, would be to
establish a clear plan for your family, including communication strategies, evacuation routes,
and meeting points. Ensuring that every family member is aware of the plan and knows what to
do in case of an emergency.

5. In crafting a Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) plan for my community, I
would prioritize a comprehensive approach. This entails conducting a thorough risk assessment,
engaging the community in the planning process, and establishing reliable early warning
systems. Clear evacuation plans, infrastructure resilience measures, and regular training drills
would be crucial components to ensure effective preparedness and response. Additionally,
fostering collaboration with local authorities and maintaining open communication channels are
essential for a coordinated effort during and after disasters. The plan would also address the
unique needs of vulnerable populations, emphasizing community engagement, and regularly
updating the DRRM strategy to stay adaptive and responsive to evolving risks. This holistic
approach aims to enhance the community's resilience and minimize the impact of potential
disasters.
