PROJECT REPORT
These days, teenagers are accused of being more troublesome
but at the same time also face a lot of troubles out of which
many aren’t acknowledged by their parents, elders and even
friends. During this period of their life, they encounter many
changes in and around them. Not all the changes they face are
precisely comprehended by teens.
9
Through the survey I conducted to various people including
teenagers, their parents and other elders, I have made a deep
investigation and analysis on people’s perspective towards
various problems faced by teens.
Half of the respondents feel that time - pass and craving for
entertainment are the factors that greatly influence mobile
addiction. Many others feel that feelings of exhaustion and
depression plunge people to seek mobile phones. Three in ten
acknowledge that unending yearning to be updated in social
media and games are yet important factors influencing mobile
addiction. Half the fraction of surveyees have recognized the
need for keeping an organised schedule in order to effectively
overcome mobile addiction and have asserted that it has worked
out very well with them and the teens knew about it.
10
The Rest of the respondents have understood that staying
accountable, kicking their device out of bed, turning off push
notifications, taking distracting apps off the home screen and
efficiency are essential to overcome addiction.
Based on the responses given for the questions related to failures
and their ensuing events, it is evident that people perceive that if
they fail even after a tedious effort, analyzing their mistake and
trying again is paramount in reaching the pinnacle. Others also
feel that if a door closes the other will open. Sadly there are also
5% of people who say that they would give up on their efforts,
they would isolate themselves, punish themselves and will not
try that again.
Most subjects feel that failure, though is considered as the
opposite word of success, is nevertheless the part of success.
People feel that failure is a part of success because repeated
efforts lead one to success. Also because everything inculcates
learning.
Furthermore, as nobody is perfect, only mistakes lead us in the
right path. One in a hundred still feel that failure cannot be
accounted to be a part of success and that they could give up on
something if they feel that they don't deserve it or they aren't
very talented for it.
Lack of courage, lack of proper guidance (unable to convey the
problems to the right person), fear of being accused for a
mistake done, thoughtless behavior due to emotions and bad
influence due to a toxic friend circle are attributed for teenagers
taking wrong decisions after failure.
11
Few people are confident enough to say that not everyone makes
wrong decisions after a failure and that failure is something that
will define a person's character. Few people also express that if
people break into pieces, some people accept and move on while
others fight against it.
Three in four people manifest that they will take it easy, if they
are teased in front of their friends by their friends. Still few
people feel ashamed and avoid their friendship. A small group
of people also develop hatred and vengeance, they tease back
and are involved in violence.
The same set of people when asked how they would feel if they
were teased by their parents answered differently. Though not
totally negative, almost six in ten answered that they would
work productively on what was said. Four in ten take it easy.
There are also few teens who feel ashamed. Few people also
admit that they will talk back and show negligence, if they think
that they didn't do anything wrong.
12
Furthermore there is also a group of people who say that they
haven't seen a parent teasing their child. They put forth their
opinion that the intention of the parents is merely to teach them
and not to tease them. There are still very few teens who cry for
it.
When the investigation was done based on the phobia in
teenagers, many found that many of their phobias vanished as
they grew which was due to the change in their perspective,
maturity, experience and hormonal changes. There are also few
people who say that teasing and advising have also influenced
the disappearance of phobia.
However, few people are found to say that they took some
brave steps in order to overcome their phobia, for instance by
taking some people as examples who have come over their
phobia by which they understand that their problem isn't that
big.
Yet, there are very few people who still live with their phobia
though they have taken some steps which probably didn't work
out well. When asked about the prevalence of phobia in people
though they have grown up, it is crystal clear that almost 50% of
the people think that they are unable to comprehend reality and
that they couldn't come out of the negative experience due to
that specific creature, thing or situation.
Few voice out that they have got used to that specific feeling of
being afraid. Astonishingly, a scanty number of people say that
the perpetuation of phobias is due to genetics which they have
acquired from their ancestors. 50% of the people say that
addiction is the most intolerable trouble faced by teens.
13
When teens are in trouble, few identifiable symptoms are
attributed to lack of interest, lack of emotion, solitary
confinement and toxic friends circle. There are also few people
who say that sleeping too much or too little is also a symptom
which shows that teens are in trouble.
From this analysis, it was also evident that everyone will not be
able to recognise these symptoms at all instants but only people
who are very close to them can recognise the change in them.
People also gave some suggestions to get rid of troubled
thoughts from their minds. Almost three in four people share
their opinion that self love and self esteem are very important in
order to push away those troubled thoughts. Ample number of
people further said that bravery and accountability also help
them out with this. Counselling was also given as one of the
suggestions.

CONCLUSION
“One moment we’re broken and then we’re fine. Lost in the
puzzle of the teenage mind” - Tate McRae (Canadian Singer-
Songwriter).
They crave for complete freedom and control over their life.
They are not completely off their minds but just find it difficult
to make proper decisions. Teenagers commit mistakes due to
which they learn a lot to forge ahead and evolve into a better
personality with high josh towards what they aimed for by
gearing them up with new techniques and strategies whereas few
people still require motivation in order to continue or to start a
new one.
15
The fear of facing life and the challenges it offers triggers teens
to take reckless actions. They tend to do things that make them
happy at that very moment but eventually forget to think of the
consequences of their actions.

REFLECTION
17
In my first draft of my survey sheet (google forms) I included a
separate section for link between mental and physical illness.
But that extended the number of questions. I thought the number
of questions should be precise and that respondents should not
feel exhausted to answer the questions. So, I merged a few of
these questions along with the section of failures and eventually
received an appreciable number of responses.
