CHAPTER III

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This chapter contains the research design and the methodology used in the conduct of
this study. It incorporated the sampling techniques, subject of the study, research locale,
research instrument, the data gathering procedure. This chapter shows how the researcher
came to the necessary data for this study, and how these data analyze, interpreted and
presented in the easiest way possible.

Research Design

Descriptive research design will be used by the researcher in their study.

Research Locale and Respondents

The researcher will conduct the study within San Guillermo National High School, San Marcelino

Zambales. Respondents will come from all Grade 10 sections. 30 students will be chosen. The

study will be conducted in the semester of the academic year 2022-2023. In addition, the

researchers used the stratified sampling techniques in selecting their respondents to ensure the

fair and equal representation of the variables of the study.

Research Instrument

Self-structured and adopted questionnaires was utilized and used by researchers as their data

gathering tool.
Data Gathering Procedures

To give solution and gather the data needed for the study, following steps was done in

gathering the data needed.

First, the researchers will make a formal letter asking a permission to conduct the study at San

Guillermo National High School, San Marcelino, Zambales. The letter will be approved by the

principal and assistant principal allowing to conduct the study.

Second, the researchers will make an authentic questionnaire to be given on the respondents.

They will approach and asks for consult from their English teacher for the checking of grammar,

spelling, and punctuation. The questionnaires will be printed and distributed to 30 respondents.

Lastly, the floating of questionnaires will be conducted to 30 students. The data will be

collected, separate each section, recorded and analyzed.


CHAPTER III: RESEARCH METHODOLOGY AND DESIGN

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This portion provides a presentations and description of the research methodology,

respondents of the study and the instrument of the study.

Research Method and Design

Our study used a descriptive research design with a data collection method of survey research

to assess the perceptions of the grade-11 Humss students on the transition from modular and

online to face-to-face learning. It employed the use of survey research, specifically

questionnaires, as the research instrument to gather data.

Locale and Respondents

The locale of this research is in San Guillermo National High School in Barangay Burgos, San

Marcelino, Zambales and the respondents of this research are the Senior High School Students

particulary the Grade 11-Humanities and Social Sciences Strand (HUMSS). There are 40 students

who will answer the questionnaire.

Instrument

The instrument used by the researchers in acquiring data was survey method. The

questionnaire contain an orderly arranged questions, properly prepared to answer by the

respondents. The first part of the questionnaire will ask for the demographic features of the
respondents encloses the name, age and sex.The second part will contain question related on

our study that will be answered by our respondents.

Validation of Instrument

The designed questionnaire will be submitted to the subject teacher for correction and

approval distributing it to the respondents and attach there will be letter of content.

Respondents will answer the questionnaires according to their personal experiences.

Data Gathering Procedure

The researchers will collect the needed data through the use of survey questionnaire. The

administration of the questionnaire was carried out by the researcher. A total of 40 copies of

the questionnaire were distributed to elicit responses from the students and retrieved on the

spot by the researcher. The 40 copies will produce to as for the total of the respondents.
