1. Newspaper report

A newspaper is a publication that is issued daily or weekly and includes local and international
news stories, advertisements, announcements, opinions, cartoons, sports news and television listings.
A newspaper report is a news story found in newspapers and are designed to provide people with
information about what is happening in the world. News is new information and is usually about
something that has just happened. All news reports follow a certain structure and have the same key
features.

School Champions Cup competition on Saturday.

II. Active and Passive

 In an active sentence, the subject usually comes before the main verb. The subject does the
action
 In a passive sentence, the subject does not do the action. The subject receives the action.
 When we want to say who or what performs the action in some passive sentences, we use the
preposition by

1. Active and passive in Present Tense

Active form: Subject + Verb 1 + Object

Example :
 My mum cooks food
 The children make puzzles

Passive form: Object + is/am/are + Verb 3 + Subject

2. Active and passive in Past Tense

Active form: Subject + Verb 2 + Object

Example :
 Ben painted the pictures
 Dad cleaned the car

II. Adverb of time

Adverbs of time tell us when something happened or will happen. It also tells when someone did
something and the duration of the action.
