Cite a certain workplace decision you need to make. Use the 7-step framework in
arriving at a certain decision.
I am one of the owners of a flower shop in my town for almost a year. My flower shop
became famous in the town because of my flower arrangement skills and also the affordable
prices of the fresh flowers. One day, a competitor came to our town and it makes my shop
became unfamous because this shop offers a new designs and kinds of a fresh flowers and also
a new arrangement of the flowers.
Identify the decision:
The decision I made is to offer other promos such as buy one bouquet with a free one
bar chocolate with an affordable price and or the customer can suggest for the designs of the
flower arrangement such as money bouquets or a bouquet full of stuff toys or a chocolate
bouquet.
Gather Information:
I will gather some research about the promos I want to offer for the customer and also if
the other promos such as suggesting other design of the bouquet is a good idea to gain more
profit.
Identify Alternatives:
After gathering informations about the promos that I think I can gain more profits and
customers. The alternatives that I want to add in my promos is to buy another kind of a flowers
such as dried flowers because it can stay long last not like the fresh flowers.
Weigh the Evidence:
If I decided to give a promo it will cost me more than the usual budget of every
Bouquets, on the other hand if I decided to sell dried flowers, I can make a dried flower out of
the withered flowers that my shop wasn’t able to sell.
Choose Among alternatives:
I think the alternative that I will use to make more profit is to sell dried flowers because it
is unique and new to the eye of the customers also it will cost less on my budget because I can
make one because of the withered flowers that I have.
Take an Action:
I think the action I need to do is I will post an informations and samples on my social
media accounts so that the customers are aware that my flower shop have a new collections
and new designs to offer for them.
Review your decisions and its consequences:
After 2 days of posting in my social media accounts about the dried flowers that my shop
offers has a big impact on my shop because it gains more customers and I gain more profit. And
also because of the new product that I offer, my shop became famous and my shop supplies in
an event such as weddings, birthdays, and other events.
What are the common workplace problems and challenges one experiences in terms of
interpersonal and intrapersonal relationship?
-Interpersonal relationships are integral to meaning and fulfillment in our lives, but it can
also be the cause of distress when problems with communication, interpretation and
expectations arise. Without effective intervention, these issues can lead to negative patterns of
interaction that emerge repeatedly in one’s personal and professional relationships. While in
intrapersonal relationship it includes an individual’s internal thought process, rationalization, and
reasoning. Disadvantages of intrapersonal communication, since there is absence of a
feedback, that is, the conversation is in a one-way flow, it could lead to the development of
misconceptions and faulty assumptions.
