The department undertook a survey on the across the six area councils of the FCT to

assess what IT equipment MSMEs require for their business.

The survey team interacted with a sample of 120 participants who were randomly
selected in each area councils from the existing pool of applicants.

The Survey questionnaire was administered through telephone interview with


applicants (see attached the questionnaire, please).

From the table above, it was noted that:

 56% of the entire survey preferred laptop. They claim this will be beneficial in
record /bookkeeping.
 21% preferred solar support claiming it will help in power management.
 11% preferred POS support as it will help in receiving payment from clients.
 8% preferred inverter claiming it will help in power management.
 1% preferred desktop for bookkeeping
 1% preferred tablet for bookkeeping
 1% preferred printer for business work.

A particular client preferred a generator for IT support but this wasn’t included in the
report.

Recommendation

1. We recommend using the survey report to guide the Acquisition of Tech


Support for MSMEs
