The tomb of the holy prophet in Madina

In Madina is the grave of the prophet, which is visited by angels.


It is so grave; there is excellence in the empyrean and in the sky.

Is there any relation between desert of Madina and the gardens?


So with the air of Madina, it is envious of the garden of
paradise.

If Madina City is safe, then everything is safe.


So Allah keeps it as the cause of the blessing.

Madina is such a garden city, which is the décor of all gardens.


The seasons of the gardens of paradise are due to the Madina

While leaving Madina, is no need to visit Garden of Paradise.


It is better than heaven, and it is a living paradise on earth.

Not only we, but Allah also loves the city of the prophet
Madina.
The love of Madina City is like the love of a prophet and Allah

The beggar at this door is the king of fate and worlds.


The beggar of this place is a matter of envy for the kings.

One who has become rich, so his fate could not be known
In the resurrection day, prophet Ibrahim will find help there.

Oh, Allah, help us to reach Madina City to see how it is there.


Where is mercy, and are there available blessings everywhere?

If one leaves Madina, then he will not find resort of heaven.


If there is love for Madina, then it is guaranteed in heaven.

On earth, he is called Mohammed, Ahmed is called in the skies.


His praise is in the world, and his praise is also found in the
skies.

There is his great rule in Madina, and he is also a ruler of the


skies.
Madina is the capital, and he is the great ruler of the two worlds.

Hadrat Sheikh Abdul Quader Jilani (R.A.) is the leader of all


holy persons like the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him.),
who is the leader of the group of all prophets of Allah who have
been sent down on the world. So, for this reason, he is called,
and he is famous as the chief of all the saints. His spiritual
benefits and favors from his miracles were available for all

periods of time, and even today they are being continued. Until
the day of judgment, such favors and benefits will be available
to mankind in the world. Because of the favor and benefits of
the holy persons that are available during their life period and
that will also be available in the world after their demise. Allah
the Most Merciful and Beneficent has kept the holy persons in
every period of time so that there should be available favors of
miracles and benefits to mankind from them.
The holy persons, due to the nearness of Allah and perfection in
the obedience of the prophet of Allah, were away from the sins.
Allah has given them the most excellent status of the holy
persons of the nation of the prophet Mohammed (peace be upon
him), and Allah’s divine power is manifested by the holy
persons.

So getting favor and benefits from the holy persons is in fact


getting favor and benefits from Allah because their sayings and
actions are according to the commandments of Allah and as per
the practice of the last prophet of Allah.
Hadrat Sheikh Abdul Quader Jilani (R.A.), who was the Qutub
(highest cadre in spiritual pivot) of all time’s favor of spiritual
miracle, is quoted in his saying, which is as follows:.

“If my disciple’s hiding will be open, if he will be there in the


east, and if I am in the west, then I will cover it.”

In this way, his disciples and devotees were able to get his favor
of miracles and the benefits of spiritual powers at all times and
always. And they think of him as a manifest of the help of Allah,
and so, for this reason, they see his favor of miracles and
benefits from him. There is a saying of the prophet, which is as
follows:.
“If your animal will run away from you, then you should call,
Oh, people of Allah, help me.”

For the revival of the religion of Islam, Hadrat Sheikh Abdul


Quader Jilani (R.A.) has such an enormous personality and is a
great leader, and due to the blessing of his hand while finding
the religion of Islam as a patient in exemplary shape and giving
new life to it, he was becoming famous and well known by the
title of Mohiuddin.

Preface

In this book first there was added details from Faizan Auliya
Deccan’ by Mohammed Ali Majdadi and after long period of
time the following book details were also added in this book.
In this book translation of episodes from the Urdu edition of
the book “Halat Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali” by Hazrat Mufti
Syed Shah Ahmed Ali Sufi Quaderi is added by me upon its
translation into the English edition and this book is well known
and this is a famous book and which is translated by me into

English language first time And given its title as the “ Khaja
Hussain Shah Wali Golconda.”
These episodes have been translated by me into the English
language from the above old book of the Urdu language and in
which there are available some great achievements, as well as
his commands and teaching of the students of the mystic way by
Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali in the area of the Deccan and which
are not yet known to the general and special persons are added
in this book and which are available in a very interesting style
so, for this reason, the readers will find great interest and
attention in this matter.
Due to the above facts and details, if the readers will start
treading its first page of the book and will not stop reading till
they will reach this book’s last page as some interesting events
and as well as other great miracles and endeavors of the holy
saint of the world Hazrat hussain Shah Wali is added in this
book and this holy saint was passed away from the world many
centuries and years ago.
Even though this is a small book, but due to its importance, it
is so great due to the coverage of many interesting events and
positive information so it is like an ocean of knowledge and
information of who was passed away from the world upon doing
his great endeavors and many hard tasks for the teaching and
propagation of the Islamic religion and the work of Islam and he
was done in the Deccan area so this book is a great book and it
will present the ocean of knowledge for the guidance of people
towards the right path of Islam.

To write about this great Saint and the great spiritual master
is not only it is difficult and but it is a very hard task as Hazrat
Hussain Shah Wali was not only a great pious personality of his

time in the area of Deccan but he was also a great and famous
spiritual master so, in brief, he was a great holy person of Allah
of his time in the Deccan region.
For a long time, he was engaged in religious discourses,
sermons, and spiritual training of the people and he did also
many great endeavors for the preaching and propagation work of
Islam in Hyderabad and around this region, and also there was
no such personality during his time in the world.

2.Biography of Hazrat Khaja Hussian Shah Wali


Hyderabad.

His name is Hussain but his patronymic name is Hussain Shah


Wali as per reference from book Mahboob al-Zaman.Hussain is
diminutive noun form of the ‘Hasan’ in the Arabic language.
And it meaning is pious and good as per Ghayas Urdu
dictionary.
The name of one of grandsons of the prophet is Hussain.As
Hussain Shah Wali is among descendent of the prophet. So he
has genealogical link with his ancestor of the Hazrat Imam
Hussain R.A.
Shah is word of the Persian language and its meaning is king
of the country.In the world there will be the king’s rule of in
any country and it will be temporary and in the same way rule of
the holy persons of Allah will be on hearts of the persons in this
world and which will not be for period of some days but it will
be on permanent basis and it will remain till day of the judgment
in this matter.
That matter which is not with throne, army and troops
Which is surely find with the place of the Qalandars

His patronymic name is Abdullah and title is Nasiruddin as per


book of ‘Mahboob al-Zaman’.

5. The details of the custodians of mausoleum of the Hazrat


Gesu Daraz
To his ancestor there was found custodianship of the shrine of
Hazrat Gesu Draz in Gulberga. And in the name of Miya Yad
Allah’s sons there was find custodianship details of the shrine
building. When Mughal king Alamgir after conqueror of Bijapur
came to visit shrine of the Gulbera in the year 1097 Hijira. At
that time custodian was Miya Qutbi Sahib who among sons
Badri Sahib and who called him but he did not went to see him
due to humility and darweshi. So Aurangzeb was unhappy with
him and dismissed him from his service and was given signed
papers of custodian ship to the trustee of the shrine in this matter
and from that time till now there is find custodian ship of the
shrine of Gulberga in the Hazrat’s family members.(Mahboob

Brothers

There were his three brothers. 1.Syed Asker Allah 2.Hussain


Shah Wali 3.Syed Raju Bijapuri and who was his ancestor. And
also his ancestor was Syed Raju Hussaini Qattal of Hyderabad.

Uncle
There is one tradition is that Syed Raju Hussain Bijapuri who
was uncle of Hussain Shah Wali and who married daughter of

him so in this way Syed Raju Hussaini Bijapuri who was his
father in law also.
6. Hazrat Syed Shah Raju Hussaini Qattal Hyderabadi

And his great tomb is situated at outside of Fatah Darwaz in


Hyderabad. And Syed Shah Reza Ali Sufi who was real his
grand-father of the compiler of Urdu book and this is clear from
the following genealogy record.
Mufi Syed Ali Shah Sufi darwesh and custodian and elder son
of Alhaj Azam Ali Sufi Azam Hasani Hussani Qutub of Deccan
and main caliph of Syed Sajjad Ali Sufi Moiz Darwesh Hasani
Hussini (spiritual master of Nawab Sir Khursheed Jah Bahdur)
Ibn Syed Subhan Ali Sufi Azmat Allah Darwesh (spiritual
master of Rasheed Khan Bahadur Jung ibn Hazrat Abul Qasim
Syed Haider Ali Shah Sufi Darwesh ibn Syed Akbar Shah Sufi
Darwesh ibn Hazrat Syed Shah Raju Hussini Qattal.

7.The Arrival from Gulberga to Golconda

In the beginning in his youth period there was thinking of the


Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali that by hidden way from mankind in
solitude there should be engage in the worship of Allah. And in
this way possible to keep secrets of Allah. And he was arrived
from Gulberga to Golconda. And at that time in Telengana there
was king of Abdulla Qutub Shah on his throne and he was

ruling in the Golconda fort. And who has much favour and
fondness of learned and pious persons there and who used to
give much respect and honour to them by granting pension to
them in this matter. When he was able to heard about that
Hussain Shah was arrived in Golconda then he has sent his
servants and minsters and nobles in his presence to welcome
him.The king’s servants have grand arrangement of his
hospitality with warmth as per order of the king and who have
taken him in the court of king with much respect and honour.
And king of Golconda has met with him with high respect and
honour (from Mahboob al-Zaman).

There is another tradition that the king sent message to Syed


Shah Saqeer Allah Hussaini well known as Safi Allah II that he
was want to pledge on his hands. So you presence in the court.
But Hazrat has sent his son Hussain Shah instead of him and
sent his son in the presence of Sultan Golconda with his advice

8.Sultan Ibrahim Qutub Shah was his disciple

When Sultan Ibrahim Qutub Shah sat on his throne and after
some short period of time he went to Gulberga to conquer in
the year 985 Hijiri.As the king was a disciple of Hussain Shah
Wali since his younger age.So he has brought him Golconda
from Gulberga for this matter. And was given him rank of noble
position. And was granted suitable incentive to him. And was

arranged stay for him in the Golconda fort as he was a great


shaik of his time.(From Sair Mohammedi,Tariq Khursheed
Jahi).

8.The techniques of soldiering and construction of buildings


in Telengana

When Hussain Shah Wali came to Golconda from Gulberga and


at that time he was master in the techniques of soldiering and he
was mark man of the target and perfect in archery art. And in
his nature there was fastness and as well as cleverness which
was much in him . And he was mark man of target the usually.
And the king in his first visit has appointed him commander of
military force of 10,000 and secretary of building construction.

Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali was a revered Sufi saint of Golconda,
during the reign of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. He is credited with
building the Hussain Sagar at Hyderabad in the year 1562 A.D.
His the patronymic name is Abdullah and his title is known as
Nasir Uddin and his name is famous as Hussain alias Hussain
Shah Wali and he belongs Sadat family of Hussaini chain
(descendant of the holy prophet through his daughter Hazrat
Fatima) and he was connected with Syedna Imam Hussain in the
25th generation and through some connections he was also
linked with Khaja Bande Nawaz Gesu Daraz of Gulbarga and
who is famous Sufi saint of Deccan (South India).To write about
Khaja Bande Nawaz Gesu Daraz of Gulbarga who was a great

Sufi saint and great author so it is not only difficult and but is a
very hard task as he was not only a great pious personality of his
time in the area of Deccan (South India) but he was also a great
author of so many great books so, in brief, he was Qu’tub
(highest cadre in the spiritual pivot at axis) of his time in the
Deccan region and so for this reason he was well known and
famous as the Sultan of Deccan. Hussain Shah Wali belongs to
the linage of the elder son of Khaja Bande Nawaz and his name
is Hazrat Syed Mohammed Ali Hussaini.

9. Genealogy

There are some differences by historians in the compilation of


his genealogical record but all of them are agreed and have
confirmed the details that he belongs to the lineage of the sons
of Khaja Bande Nawaz of Gulbarga. As per reference from the
book ‘Tadhkira Aulia Deccan’, his genealogy record is
mentioned as follows.
1.Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali.
2.Syed Saqirullah alias Safiullah Thani.
3.Asadullah Amin.
4.Askarullah alias Safiullah.
5.Shah Mohammed Akbar Hussaini.
6.Syed Mohammed al Hussaini Khaja Bande Nawaz.

As per the compiler of the book ‘Maskawat al-Nibwa’ the


details of his genealogy record are as follows.

1.Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali.


2.Shah Safiullah.
3.Asadullah.
4.Saifullah.
5.Mohammed Akber Hussaini.
6.Syed Mohammed al Hussain Bande Nawaz Gesu Daraz.
As per the compiler of the book ‘Anwar al-Aqyar,’ his
genealogy record is as follows.

1.Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali.

4.Mohammed Asker al Hussaini.
5.Syed Mohammed al Hussaini Bande Nawaz Gesu Daraz.

10. Birth

In this episode, there are some great achievements of the above


great personality are added which are not yet known to the
general persons and which are added in this book in a very
interesting style so for this reason, the readers will find great
interest and attention in this matter.

From the above facts and details, if the readers will start reading
the first page of the episode will not stop the reading till they
will reach its last page of this episode as in this chapter some
interesting events and as well as other great miracles and
endeavours of the above holy saint are added in this episode. He
was passed away from the world many centuries years ago.
Even though this is a small chapter but due to its importance it is
so great due to the coverage of many interesting events and
positive information in it so it is like an ocean of knowledge and
information of the above holy saint who was passed away from
the world upon doing his great endeavours and many hard tasks
for the preaching and propagation of Islam in Deccan so this
chapter is a small one but it will present the ocean of knowledge
and information for the guidance of people towards the right
path of Islam.
He was great pious personally of his time in the Deccan (South
Deccan) region so he was well known and famous as a man of
miracles and knowledge of Allah. He was born in Bidar city and
his ancestors were shrine custodians of Dargah (Shrine) of
Khaja Bande Nawaz Gulbarga and so he has got Faiz (favor) in
his inheritance from the above great link and connections of
Khaja Bande Nawaz of Gulbarga. The service and post of the
shrine custodian were continued in the name of sons of Miya
Yadullah and till the time of Sultan Aurangzeb Alamgir, this
chain of service and post was available to them.
When Sultan Aurangzeb Alamgir visited Gulbarga city after
conquering Bijapur kingdom and he has called the shrine
custodian Qutubi Saheb who belongs to the sons of Miya
Yadullah but Qutubi Saheb due to Kasar Nafsi (humility) and

habit of darweshi (mysticism) could not see him and so he has


refused the royal order in this matter.
Due to the above reason, Sultan Aurangzeb Alamgir was upset
and angry with him and he has issued orders for his immediate
dismissal from his post of custodian and has appointed another
person as the shrine custodian in his place and that person was
Hussain Shah Wali’s ancestor and in this matter, the Sultan has
issued Sanad with Khalat (certificate and robe of honor) by his
seal and signature. So from that time to till this date the service
and the post of the custodian of Hazrat Gesu Daraz at
Gulberga the shrine is continued in the line of his family.
In his youth period. At the beginning of his youth period, he has
an idea with him that he should worship Allah in the lonely
place by hiding from mankind so in this way he can protect the
divine secrets.
11.His arrival at Golconda Fort
He arrived in Golconda Fort from Gulbarga city during the rule
of Sultan Ibrahim Qutub Shah who was ruling in the Telangana
area at that time. As a matter of fact, Sultan of Golconda
Ibrahim Qutub Shah was followed of Shiaism but he was a great
admirer and lover of the Sunni learned persons as well as holy
saints so for this reason upon his arrival in Golconda Fort he has
sent his ministers and officers to call Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali
to the Court of Golconda. As per orders of the Sultan the
ministers and officers have arranged for his stay and with great
honor and respect and they brought Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali in
the royal court of Golconda. The sultan was much impressed by
him and he has given him much attention and respect him and

also in his first meeting awarded him the post of commander of


10,000 grades troops and also offered him the post of secretary
of royal construction works.
In the book Miskwat al-Nabwa the author is mentioned that in
the beginning Hazrat Hussain Shah was employed with sultan of
Golconda Ibrahim Qutub Shah as commander of 10,000 troops.
And upon death of Sultan Ibrahim Qutub Shah he was shifted to
the military department. And he was died on 14 Jamad al-
Awwal in the year 1035 Hijira (from Miskawat al-Nabwa)
With me there is some fault with author of the book Miskawat
al-Nabwa in the writing.Because Sultan Ibrahim Qutub Shah
was enthrone on 1035 Hijira. And as per above writing the year
of the death of the Sultan Ibrahim Qutub Shah is also same that
is 1035 Hijira. So when he will be worked in the military
department. So the compiler of the book Miskawat al-Naba was
commited this mistake in his book.
Even though as Abdul Rauf Sahib has mentioned the year of the
enthroning of the Sultan Ibrahim Qutub Shah as 1041 Hijira.
(Dabdaba Nizam)
But Imam Khan Sahib Hijar mentioned in his history book the
year of the enthroning of the Sultan Ibrahim Qutub Shah as
1035 Hijira as per Tariq Rasheed Khani by quoting chornogram
dates from the two couplets.
After some time sultan was very kind to him and also accepted
him as his son-in-law and arranged the grand marriage of her
beautiful and lovely daughter Khairat Unnisa Begum with him
and awarded him many grants and estates.

Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali took always care for the loss and
gain of the general persons. So for this reason we should follow
the teachings of such a great pious personality of the past and we
should also follow his steps in the darweshi (mystic) style of
life. So it is required his steps to be followed practically and not
to take his sides orally as a past pious person was perfect in the
following things.
Fauna fil Sheikh (morality for the sake of his master).
Fauna fil Rasul (morality for the sake of the prophet).
Fauna fil Allah (morality for the sake of Allah).

But it is very sad that we Muslims used to say that we are


following the pious personalities of the past but actually we are
following the below things. 1.Fanal fil Duniya (mortality for
sake of the world).
12. Death
When Hazrat Hussain Shah was left this mortal world then at
that time sultan of Golconda want to bury in the royal tombs
area in Golconda but as per advice of Syed Ali Nami he was
buried him in the Kharni Bagh and also for this place there
was Hazrat Hussain Shah has left his final advice in this matter.
The place in which there is existing his mausoleum and which
was known before Kharni Bagh. In short his tomb is near
Golconda fort and its distance from Hyderabad is one Kos is
underneath of the mountain. ( from Mahboob al-Zaman)
He was in the service of the sultan of Golconda for a long time
and fulfilled his important duties successfully. But after that, he

was retired from the court service and engaged in the worship of
Allah. His age is more than a hundred years. He left the world
on 14th Jamid Thani 1068 Hegjra.

13. Tomb of Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali, in Golconda

The mausoleum of Hazrat Syed Khaja Hussain Shah Wali

His grand mausoleum is located two miles away from Golconda


fort near the mountain area. He was a famous and great Sufi
Saint of Deccan (South India) so for this reason, people of the

Deccan (South India) used to visit the shrine for the fulfillment
of their desires and wishes for the sake of the sheik’s name. On
every Thursday the visitors in large numbers will visit the shrine
and pray Allah for the fulfillment of their desires and wishes for
the sake of the sheik’s name.
It is to be noted here that Hazrat Hussain Shah Ali’s caliph
Syed Ali Na’mi is buried at the foot side of his tomb and upon
his grave there is constructed one small tomb in black stones.

Shed

At the opposite of tomb of Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali there is


find on permanent shed on the door and which was constructed
by Sir Khursheed Jah, Khursheed Dowla. Khursheed Mulk, Taiq
Jung Mohammed Mohiuddin Khan Bahadur Shams Umra V

Regarding construction of the grand mausoleum it is only
known it was build during the period of the Golconda kingdom.
But it is not known during which king period it was build and
year of the construction. And it is not known in the record and in
this matter history pages are silent.In brief it is learn that the
holy tomb is situated near in the north and southern side of the

His month

In the Deccan area, the names of the Muslim calendar months


are known by different names. So for this reason, in the Deccan
area specially the month of Jamad al-Thani is well known and
famous as Hussain Shah Wali month among women in the
Deccan (South India) region.
Street name

Around his mausoleum there is a vast street which is well


known and famous as street Dargah Hussain Shah Wali and this
area is thickly populated and also one post office is there in his
name and in correspondence, the name of this street is written
for the fast delivery of letters.
The Urs (death anniversary) ceremony.
Some poets wrote one poetry line in the Persian language in
which the year of his death is available and its translation is as
follows.
‘Rafaft Az Duniya Hussain Pak Deen.’ = 1068 A.H.
‘Hussain Left the world and who has pure religion.’

Every year two Urs (death anniversary) ceremonies are


celebrated and the details are as follows.
Big Urs (death anniversary) ceremony on the 13th and 14th
Jamid Thani.
Small Urs ( death anniversary) ceremony on the 16th and
17th Ziqad.
In the Big Urs (death anniversary) ceremony on the 13th Jamad
Thani sandal ceremony is organized and on 14th Jamad Thani
and the lights are illuminated on the mausoleum.
On this occasion, people from various walks of life, irrespective
of caste and creed, assemble to celebrate the Urs (death
anniversary) ceremony which takes place on the above dates
of the Muslim calendar at the famous mausoleum of Syed
Hussain Shah Wali every year. Several hundred thousand
devotees from near and far, irrespective of religion and beliefs,
gather there to seek blessings. During the Urs (death
anniversary) ceremony time, the visitors in large number will
visit the shrine for the fulfillment of their desires and wishes for
the sake of Shaikh’s name and there will be bus service from
Hyderabad to Hussain Shah Wali street for every hour. Many
stalls will be arranged during the Urs (death anniversary)
ceremony and specially flower stalls are found in large numbers
there and in this way the above ceremony will be arranged on
the grand scale. The visitors in large numbers will visit the
mausoleum from near and far away places and pray Allah for
the fulfillment of their desires and wishes for the sake of the
sheik’s name.

There was grant of Nizam rupees 680.00 from the Nizam turst
for covering annual death anniversary (Urs) expenses and there
will be arrangement of cooking of Pkat (pukht (Persian:),
larhmeen, or slow oven cooking is a cooking technique
associated with the Northern Indian subcontinent in which meat
and vegetables are cooked over a low flame,) and Niyaz (make
an offering) by the superintendent of the Nizam trust. And there
will be distribution of food to the visitor on the next day of
sandal pasting ceremony and there will be presentation of
garlands on the mausoleum. And free distribution of food to the
vistors, poor and needy persons as well as servants of the shrine
building.

Grants of the subsistence and for Aoud (aloeswood) and


flower
For the help of subsistence and aoud (aloeswood) and flower
expenses there was grant by the sultan of Golconda and were
given Manikonda and Kuntapally villages for this purposes to
the shrine trust.

Small Urs (death anniversary) ceremony

Every year on the 15th of Ziaqad the sandal ceremony will be


organized and on the 16th of Ziqad the lights are illuminated on
the mausoleum and this Urs (death anniversary) ceremony is
very important because in this ceremony only special persons

used to attend this function for the fulfillment of their desire and
wishes for the sake of the sheikh’s name.

The details of differences about death of Hazrat Hussain


Shah Wali

The compiler of book Mistakwat al-Nabwa has mentioned year


of his death as 1035 Hijira.And as a matter of fact at that time
Sultan Abdulla Qutub not get his thorne. And Ibrahim Qutub
Shah ruled from 957 to 988 Hijira and ruled for a period of 21
years. And Sultan Mohammed Quli Qutub Shah ruled from 988
to 1020 Hijira and ruled for 32 years. And Sultan Mohammed
ruled from 1020 to 1041 Hijira. for a period of 25 years. And
after that Sultan Ibrahim Qutub ruled from 1041 to 1083 Hijira
ruled 42 years. So in this way compiler of the book Miskawat
Nabwat’s two saying are not correct and there is find difference
in this matter. So presence of Hazrat Hussain Wali during the
rule of Sultan Abdulla Qutub Shah working in the ministry is
not correct.

The details of his wives and children

Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali married two women.

He was first married with his cousin sister who was daughter of
Hazrat Syed Raju Hussaini Bijapuri and her name was Raza
Bibi. And from her body two sons were born. And she used to
live in Gulberga city along with his two sons there.When Hazrat
Hussain Shah Wali married with Golconda princess then at that
time she has been shifted to Golconda along with his two sons.
But when there was marriage of Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali with
princess of Golconda then she was shifted to Gulberga again due
to her anger and began living with her father Hazrat Raju Qattal
Hussaini.

The details of event of his second marriage is that when Hazrat


came to Golconda fort then at that time Sultan Ibrahim Qutub
Shah has married his daughter with him. And he was given him
privileges of his son in law and awarded him many estates and
position of excellance and honour. And due to link of Hazrat
with sultan of Golconda the general public were very happy.
And all were praised king’s hp and sk. (Sair Mohammadi, Tariq
Khursheed Jahi and Mahboob al-Zaman)
There is another saying in this matter is that Sultan Ibrahim Quli
Qutub Shah has married with Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali.It is
fact Hazrat was a real darwesh and fakir type personality.But he
did not like usually luxury and richness and wealthy style of life
the princess of the Golconda kingdom.So in the beginning
period and for three years Hazrat was away from the princess of
the Golconda Khairta Unnisa Begum for this reason.There was
information reached to king of Golconda and who has presented

his request to Hazrat and told him that “I have given marriage
of my daughter in your presence for the sake of duty of
performing of the abulution to you. So that she will be
successful in the other world. Now I came to know that Hazrat is
not happy with her. And I do not know reason in this matter.”
Then Hazrat has informed the king of Golcondat that “With her
there is find still smell of the world.” And the king has informed
his daughter in this matter. As per saying in Quran of that pure
lady of good nature and pious woman in the short period time
all his dowry presents have given away in the charity on the way
of Allah. And she has with her one necklace of pearls which she
has kept for giving some other woman and who did not come to
collect so for this reason she has crushed in the hand mill and
thrown away in the garbage. And she herself was engage in one
Khadi (the dupattā, also called oudni is a long shawl-like scarf
traditionally worn by women in the Indian subcontinent to cover
the head and shoulders is a hand-spun and woven natural
fibre cloth) as head cover in the worship of Allah.
Children
There were two sons born to first wife of Hazrat Hussain Shah
Wali and her name was Raza Bibi.
1.Syed Asad Allah and name of second son was not known and
both of the sons used to reside with their mother Raza Bibi in
Gulberga. When both of sons have came to Golconda with their
mother. Upon the second marriage of Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali
Raza Bibi was upset and anger went to Gulberga and lived with
her father Hazrat Raju Qattal Hussaini.And both sons also went
back to Gulbera along with their mother. After death of Hazrat
Hussain Shah Wali his son Syed Asad Allah was become

custodian of the shrine in Golconda. And lineage of the


custodian is still find in the sons of him.
The sons of the princess Khairat Unnisa Begum

There were born two sons from the body of the Khairat Unnisa
Begum. The king was given him title of Imam al-Mulk. This son
who was most intelligent and was died in his prime youth period
after his marriage without leaving sons after him. Hazrat hussain
shah wali and king of Golconda was very sad upon death death
of Imam al-Mulk at the younger age. As per history book of
Mahboob al-Zaman his grave is found in the shrine building.

Regarding name of the second son which was not found in the
books of history.He left this mortal world in his younger age.
After him there were no children were born to princess of
Golconda.

Death of Princess Khairat Unisa Begum.

After some period of time princess Khairat Unnisa Begum the


daughter of Sultan Ibrahim Qutub Shah and wife of Hussain
Shah Wali died so for this reason Shah Saheb was very upset
and sad about this tragic event of his wife’s death and Sultan
Ibrahim Qutub Shah was very sad and very upset due to the
death of her dear and lovely daughter. So for this reason

Sultan temporarily buried his daughter at the side of the mosque


of Khairtabad as per the king’s own belief in Shiaism and a
coffin was made and put in the same grave under the supervision
of Hussain Shah Wali. After some time as the Sultan was
followed of Shiaism so he ordered to take out the coffin from the
tomb and to send it to Karbala Moula (name of a place in Iraq,
where Imam Hussain was martyred) for the final burial of the
princess there and for this reason, still, the tomb of Princess
Khairat Unisa Begum is empty since a long time in Khairtabad
street.
Princess Khairat Unisa Begum was delivered one son and the
Sultan was awarded his title as Imam ul-Mulk but that boy died
in his youth period and for this reason, the father was deeply
affected and very upset in this matter.
In Khairtabad street the empty tomb still reminds Princess
Khairat Unisa Begum. There is a tradition in the city which is
well known that Hazrat Hussain Shah has constructed this empty
tomb for himself, but he could not be buried in it due to some
reasons.

A man of wisdom

He was a man of great wisdom and intelligence so, for this


reason, we can call him a great man of wisdom in mankind.
His relations with the court of The Golconda Kingdom.

He used to maintain his best relation in the court of the


Golconda kingdom because with his status and relation he was
able to benefit and help the general persons because the general
persons as well poor and even the rich persons could not able to
represent their matters and problems in the royal court of the
Golconda kingdom so he used his status for the benefits for the
general as well rich and poor persons and helped them a lot in
their problems and difficulties.
As a matter of fact, he was rich in his appearance in the royal
court of Golconda but actually, he was a fakir in
his batin (innermost) as he was having qualities of a fakir in him
so for this reason, there was no restriction for the entry of any
person in his court so he did not keep watchmen at the door of
his house. There was the free entry of all persons in his court to
represent their problems and difficulties and in all such cases he
was most successful to submit such problems in the royal court
of the Sultan of Golconda and he was always successful in these
matters to bring positive results to the general and other persons.

The Miracles
1.Once Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali as per usual practice went to
the court of Sultan of Golconda in the light of order in the
Quran verse al-Noor-61, ‘But when you enter houses, give
greetings of peace upon each other – a greeting from Allah,
blessed and good. Thus does Allah make clear to you the verses
[of ordinance] that you may understand’. It means to say salams
to the persons as per manners. And before saying to the salam in
the court of the king he thought himself that there is servant

behind him and so has given sword and staff to the servant in
this matter. And by thinking this he has left his sword and staff
behind him. Even though that sword and staff was not get to the
servant and instead of it there was done by him one miracle that
both sword and staff began hanging in the air by the grace of
Allah. Due to this miracle there was good effect as well as
influence of his staintliness and miracles upon the sultan and his
courtiers.
2.And another time Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali came to the
court of king of Golconda as per practice.At that time court of
the king full with courtiers and there was no place for him to sit
there. There was much rush of the people there at that time. So
for this reason he has taken out one pillar of the building from
its place and put it at some other place near by that place and he
himself sat at the place of the piller of the building.When there
was movement of the courtiers from the court one courtier did
not able to leave from there as edge of the shirt was under the
place of pillar so for this reason he could move from that place
for this reason.There was prevailed great surprised upon the
persons in the court that how such heavy piller of the building
who was removed from its place.at last all were recognized that
this is miracle belongs to Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali and they
said in one tone that this is must miracle of him only. When king
was able to know then he was also in great surprised in this
matter. And king was asked with him about in this matter then
he told him that “He is not responsible for it but due to effects
of the names of Allah this was happened. And there will be
happen super nature event by grace of Allah.As per meaning and
interpretation of the Moulana Rumi that holy persons of Allah

will be given this supernatural habit that even though then take
back arrow left by him from the way.
3.Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali was perfect and master in soldierly
and archery works. One day he was with Prince Mohammed
Qutub Shah and the prince was moving along his soldiers and
royal courtiers on the road and at that time one kite poop while
flying on the royal prince so for this reason he fired on the kite
and so the kite was died at once and fell down on the ground so
for this reason the prince and other royal courtiers were
astonished in this matter for his quick and fast action and as well
as firing at the flying target in the sky and due to the above
reason the prince has increased his status and respect as well as
his dignity.Some historians have mentioned this event as follows
that once he has seen a kite which was flying in the sky and he
has seen the kite with his furious look so, for this reason, it was
fallen down on the ground and the kite was burnt completely.
Due to the above event, the prince of the Qutub Shahi Kingdom
and Amirs (courtiers) has observed his miracle and became his
devotees at that time.
Mosque
The mother of Nawab Mir Akbar Ali Khan Bahadur Foulad
Junj Nizam Ul-Mulk Asif Jah III Skindar Jah III of Magfart
Manzil Tahniat Unsia Begum who had much devotion with
Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali so for this reason she had constructed
one mosque in the shrine area in the year 1224 Hijira and which
is habituated by persons visiting the shrine building.
The Shrine building

Due to devotion of Tahniat Unsia Begum had constructed shrine


building in the vicinity of the tomb of Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali
and during the celebration of annual death anniversary and
visitors used to stay in this building. On this building there is
one tablet in which there is inscription in Persian language
mentioned that mosque and shrine building constructed by
Tahniat Unsia Begum for her devotion and sake of good deed.
In the shrine area there is a choukhandi (the meaning of the
word Chaukhandi. Literally, it suggests a four walled enclosure
open from above. In the cultural tradition of Sindh, such a
walled enclosure is called a Chaukhandi, which is constructed
out of respect around the grave of a revered person.) with net,
and it is generally known that it is a grave area of Tahniat
Unnsia Begum, but it is not confirmed, so Allah knows well in
this matter.
Hussain Sager
At the side of the Khairtabad area in the good atmosphere, there
was a small tank.
One day there came a thought in the Sultan’s mind to convert
the above small kunta (small tank) into the big tank so that, with
its help, there would be irrigation in the neighboring areas. So
Sultan has asked Hussain Shah Wali for his advice in this
matter, as he was secretary of the state of royal construction
works, and Shah Hussain Wali has approved Sultan’s grand
project of Hussain Sagar. Sultan has sanctioned the construction
project of Hussain Sagar under the supervision of Hazrat
Hussain Shah Wali. Under his supervision, the tank construction
project was completed in two years.The project was completed

approximately in the period of two years with budget amount


rupees 2.5 laks in the year 1575 hijira. And length of the bund is
2500 yards. And catchment area of the water in the tank is 8
square miles.
He is credited with building the Hussain Sagar in Hyderabad in
the year 1562. A.D. Hussain Sagar Lake, built by Hazrat
Hussain Shah Wali in 1562, during the rule of Ibrahim Quli
Qutb Shah. It was a lake of 5.7 square kilometers built on a
tributary of the River Musi to meet the water and irrigation
needs of the city. Tank Bund was built in the 16th century, and
the lake was named to express the gratitude of Ibrahim Quli
Qutub Shah to Hussain Shah Wali, who helped him recover
from illness.
It is a sprawling artificial lake that holds water perennially. It
was built during the reign of Ibrahim Qutub Shah across a
tributary of the river Musi in 1562. It links the twin cities of
Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
Ibrahim Qutub Shah has named this tank Ibrahim Sager. But
during the construction period, the laborers used to talk as
follows:.
One person will ask another person where you will work. And
the other person will reply at Hussain Sagar, so in this way it
became famous and well known as Hussain Sager. Despite the
hard work of many ministers and royal officers in this matter to
name Ibrahim Sager, this name did not become famous or
popular.

So for this reason, Sultan told Hussain Shah Wali that this tank
will be named Hussain Sagar, so we will construct another tank
in our name. So Sultan has constructed another tank in the Jalla
Palli village, whose name is Ibrahim Sagar, and the name of the
village is Ibrahimpatnam. Its distance from the city of
Hyderabad is 32 kilometers. This water tank was also
constructed under the supervision of Hazrat Hussain Wali.

Due to changes of time many areas of Hyderabad state were


merged with state of Andhra Pradesh before formation of
Telengana state. After this there were many endevours to
change of the Husain Sagar. And which become failure in this
matter.still this tank well known and famous as Hussain
Sagar.As this tank is heritage tank so for this reason it is not
only well known in India but it is well known in all over the
world and as it is near old airport of Hyderabad so a large
number of travelers know well Hussain Sagar in this matter.
It is real name is Hussain is Hussain ‫( ساغر‬wine-cup) but due to
wrong spell it is called as Hussain Sagir in Hyderabad.
In short, during the rule period of Sultan Ibrahim Qutub Shah,
there were more than 100 water tanks constructed in the entire
Telengana area, and all those tanks were constructed by Hazrat
Hussain Wali. There was one more old tank there, so Sultan
ordered its reconstruction and repair. Till today, the above tanks
are available in the above village, and from the above tanks, a
large number of people have been getting the benefits of
drinking and irrigation facilities for many centuries.

Khairtabad Street

As per reference in the history book ‘Tariq Nizami', the


compiler of the book has mentioned that Sultan Ibrahim Qutub
Shah has constructed Khairtabad Street in the name of her
beloved daughter Princess Khairat Unnisa Begum, and Sultan
used to like and love her very much. So for this reason, he was
very upset and worried about the sudden death of her dear
daughter. On this street, Sultan has constructed the following
buildings: 1. There are many stone buildings. 2. One big
mosque. 3. One big bazaar.
At that time, this place was well known and famous for its
healthy atmosphere and good resort, and in this area, the weather
and other general conditions were very good, so people were
attracted there. Princess Khairat Unnisa Begum used to live in
such a good and lovely place with his husband Hazrat Hussain
Shah Wali there, and Sultan used to come there to see his dear
and lovely daughter. On one side of such a lovely, healthy
resort, there was one spring, which is known as the small Kunta.
In a note from the book'Tadhkira Auliya Deccan’, Sufi Abdul
Jabbar Khan Malkapuri has written in his above book that Sufi
and pious personalities of the past used to have great conduct
and character with them, so, for this reason, they have not
desired pleasure and happiness in their lives due to their
nearness to the kings, but due to their good relations with kings,
they used to help the general and poor persons and bring them

good results and benefits. So for the above reason, we should


take a lesson from the good conduct and character of pious
personalities of the past.

His mausoleum

The mausoleum and shrine at the Qutb Shahi Tombs, called


Dargah Hussain Shah Wali’, were built by Abdullah Qutb Shah
in his honor. He died in 1620. The area, which is on the
southwestern shore of Hussian Sagar, was chosen as a location
to construct the residence of Princess Khairat Unnisa Begum,
who was not in good health. The ruler, in the fond hope that the
greenery and climate of the lakeshore would restore the normal
health of the Princess, asked his son-in-law, Hazrat Hussein
Shah Wali, an eminent engineer, to construct a residential
palace, a mosque, and a tank, which is now called Hussain Sagar
(or the Tank Bund), as it is commonly called, which was built on
a tributary of the Musi river during the reign of Sultan Ibrahim
Qutb Shah in 1562.
