The Middle East department is responsible for all engagement throughout the Middle
East region to promote and grow Islamic Relief’s profile and reputation to forge
partnerships, exploring funding opportunities as well as fundraise through institutions
and individuals
JOB PURPOSE:
The Individual Giving Manager is responsible for managing a team to raise the public
profile of Islamic Relief in the Middle East region and ultimately raise funds to support
programmes implemented around the world.
The role holder will manage all Islamic Relief’s digital channels and media engagement
and develop a comprehensive engagement strategy to develop the brand in the region
and significantly grow individual giving income.

• Engagement with external agencies and consultants to help
implement engagement plans to help grow the Islamic Relief brand
across the Middle East region
• Engagement with media organisations and digital influencers across
the Middle East region to promote Islamic Relief and its work
• Engagement with the Institutional Fundraising team to support the
provision of media and marketing material
• Engagement with Islamic Relief Family Members
• Engagement with peer organisations in the region
• This role holder is responsible for all Arabic language content that is
developed and published across multiple platforms and channels
• Responsible for a significant, six-figure marketing budget to promote
Islamic Relief’s work and raise funds across the region
• The role is responsible for making decisions involving key campaigns
and initiatives that have a direct affect upon internal teams
• Responsible for all expenses incurred through the team, including
content creation and utilising external specialists
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The jobholder is accountable for fulfilling their roles and responsibilities in line
with Islamic Relief’s values and principles of fairness, humanity, honesty,
respect and fair treatment of their colleagues and staff. The jobholder will
report to the Head of Middle East Fundraising:

• Develop partnerships with influencers to help promote Islamic Relief’s
campaigns through social platforms
• Develop novel fundraising initiatives and campaigns to grow supporter
base
• Design and initiate activities that help gain a better understanding of
target audiences
• Manage budgets across multiple projects, including engagement with
external agencies
• Grow individual giving income significantly over the next five years
• Liaise with other Islamic Relief Family members to coordinate and align
global appeals and campaigns
• Explore and develop potential partnerships and joint appeals and
campaigns with institutions across the region
Area two: Strengthen the Islamic Relief brand in the Middle East region
through digital and mainstream media engagement and local partnerships
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Experience
• Experience of developing branding and fundraising campaigns across
the Middle East region
• Experience of working within the charity sector in the Middle East
region
• Experience of engaging with Arabic language media to highlight a
humanitarian cause or issue
• Experience of managing external agencies and contractors
• Demonstrable experience of managing a diverse team
• Demonstrable experience of budget-planning and monitoring
• Proven experience of managing digital platforms including website and
social media
• Experience of managing projects, sometimes with competing deadlines
• Experience of coordinating appeals and campaigns across multiple
teams and/or organisations
Qualifications
• Educated to a degree level
• Additional qualification(s) in communications/fundraising/marketing
would be advantageous
• Fluent in both Arabic and English is a must (reading, writing and
spoken)
