Fleximent 201 Flexible Cementitious
Waterproofing Coating

032 - 019
Fleximent® 201 is a two-component, flexible cementitious Environmentally
Friendly Coating
waterproofing coating comprising of a proprietary synthetic
resin dispersion and a blend of selected cement mixed with
fillers. Once cured, the membrane allows entrapped water
vapour to escape but yet remain impermeable to water.

Fleximent® 201 is flexible, adheres to most surfaces and

fills hairline cracks. It has excellent resistance to wear,
weather, abrasion, aggressive soils and contaminated
ground water. Fleximent® 201 acts as an effective
waterproofing coating for floors, walls, water retaining
structures and planter boxes. It may be applied onto
surfaces in contact with potable water.

Fleximent® 201 may be applied to damp surfaces. It

contains no chlorine and salts that cause corrosion and
efflorescence and is resistant to frost and thawing salts.

Fleximent® 201 meets the requirements of British

Standard BS 6920:90 and Singapore Standard SS 375:94.

METHOD STATEMENT

PROJECT : PROPOSED SOUTH BEACH WELIGAMA CONDOMINIUM PROJECT

SUBJECT : WATERPROOFING OF BATHROOMS

THE PRODUCT:

Fleximent 201 is a two component cementitious flexible membrane. The product consists of
powder and liquid. The product is a brush application.

THE APPLICATION:
All plumbing must be completed and pressure tested (if necessary) prior to commencement of
the waterproofing. All voids created for installation of pipes, fitting etc must be filled and
1 completed

The cement mortars debris on the surface must be removed by main contractor. The surface is
then inspected to ascertain if there is foreign objects/honey combing in the surface. These areas
will be hacked and patched prior to waterproofing application by the main contractor.

For vertical brick/ block work, it must be plastered semi rough thin plaster, to a height of
300mm-1000mm from the finished floor level and 2100 mm high of shower area .Lay the fillet
minimum of 25mm X 25mm of cement sand is placed at the intersection of the vertical and the
2 horizontal.

The surface is then thoroughly cleaned. Once the surface preparation is completed, the surface
is wetted prior to application of the waterproofing. This is to promote capillary action of
product into substrate.

The two components that constitute the Fleximent 201 product are mixed to ensure proper
dispersion of the components. The first coat applied on the concrete substrate. On completion
of the first coat, allow for cure 4-3 hours then will undertake the second coat application over
the first coat. Edger’s will reinforce with polyester mat and will apply 3rd coat over the 2nd
coat at edger’s.

In areas where pipes/penetrations exists, the membrane will be extended either along the
surface of the pipe, if the pipe protrudes from the concrete surface or into the pipe if the pipe
is flushed with the concrete surface.

Allow product to cure minimum of 24 hours. The structure is then pond tested.( Minimum of
24 hr)

On pond test if there are no any defects is found. Then water will be removed and lay the
protection screed or tile bed.
1. Any uneven areas, defected areas and chiseled patches to be treated with an approved
epoxy resin based un-pigmented primer and to be leveled with a homogeneously mixed
approved 2-component epoxy mortar.
2. The detail at intersections shall be provided with sketches.
