Hard coating for calender thermo rolls

Valmet Calender Roll Cover CO is a very hard and
very smooth roll cover for calender hard rolls. It pro-
vides long regrinding intervals and high-quality paper
and board production. Valmet Calender Roll Cover CO
prolongs the roll lifetime by preventing wear of the
hard chilled layer.

Repair i.e. patching is possible on-site. Please contact
Valmet.

Doctoring recommendations
Ÿ Valmet Doctor Blade Carbon VC, Valmet Doctor
Balde Carbon VE or Valmet Doctor Blade Carbon
VT are recommended
Ÿ Blade angle: 26° ± 1°
Ÿ Maximum blade load: 150–300 N/m (0.9–1.8 pli)

Transportation and storage
Store in a dry place protected against condensing
moisture and water. Avoid sudden temperature vari-
ations. Use cardboard to protect the cover against oil,
dirt, dust, and damage. Store each roll on it's own
transport base or support by the journals. Use
wooden/plastic saddles when supporting rolls by the
shell. Use thick rubber sheets (25 mm / 1") and dry
protective cardboard. Li by the journals whenever

possible. When liing by the shell, protect the liing
points with thick cardboard and use wide, clean li-
ing straps. Avoid bumping the roll against anything.
Crowning and tapering
No speci c instructions for this cover, usually not
crowned nor tapered.
