Industrial Revolution
- The Industrial Revolution was a period in which humans transitioned from a rural,
agricultural economy to a town-based, industrialized economy.
- It began in Great Britain during the mid-18th century and early 19th century.
- The Industrial Revolution led to inventions that included the assembly line, telegraph,
steam engine, sewing machine, and internal combustion engine.

Morse created the telegraph, which sent electric signals
over a wire allowing the nation to communicate.
Samuel Slater
(June 9, 1768 – April 21, 1835)

- He was an early English-American industrialist, also known


as the "Father of the American Industrial Revolution”.

- In the United Kingdom, he was called "Slater the Traitor"


and "Sam the Slate" because he brought British textile
technology to the United States, modifying it for American
use.

- He stole the textile factory machinery designs as an


apprentice to a pioneer in the British industry before
migrating to the U.S. at the age of 21.
Samuel Morse
(April 27, 1791 – April 2, 1872)

- He was an American inventor and painter.

- After having established his reputation as a portrait


painter, in his middle age Morse contributed to the
invention of a single-wire telegraph system based on
European telegraphs.
