For this assignment you will be writing a report and building a mission/book/poster/video. ​This
project will be written in Spanish.

PART 1: REPORT​ You will use the following outline to help you write the report.

Paragraph 1: Introduction
Introduce your report with a topic sentence and a preview sentence.

Paragraph 2: The Mission

What is the name of the mission?
What number is the mission in the mission chain?
Where is the mission located?
Was your mission ever moved?
Who founded the mission?
What date was the mission founded?

Paragraph 3: Daily Life

What tribe or tribes of Native Americans lived at the mission?
What crops were grown at the mission?
What livestock was raised at the mission?
What roles did the people at the mission have?

Paragraph 4: Hardships
Did the Native Americans and the missionaries get along?
Were there problems with disease?
Were there any natural disasters that damaged or destroyed the mission?
Did the mission face any other hardships?

Paragraph 5: Interesting Facts

Give at least 3 interesting facts about the mission that were not in your other paragraphs.

Paragraph 6: Conclusion

Concluding topic sentence and preview sentence

In addition to the written portion above, include the following when putting your report together:
Colorful cover with the report title and your name, table of contents page, Bibliography-list of
books (and their authors) and websites that you used to write your report.
PART 2: MODEL
Option 1:
Make a model of the assigned mission at home. The model should be as authentic looking as
possible and include the name of the mission. PLEASE, NO SUGAR CUBE MISSIONS.
Suggested materials for building: clay, cardboard, Styrofoam, paper mache, popsicle sticks, or
toothpicks.

Option 2:
Create a graphic novel or book based on your assigned mission. It can be a fictional story that
has elements from your mission and the people or it can be an informative text.

Option 3:
Create a poster with the mission. The poster can be painted, colored in, or you can use beans
to fill in. The mission needs to be represented accurately and have many details. It can also be
a pop-up poster.

Option 4: You can make an informative video about the mission. You can visit the mission or put
together an iMovie/powerpoints/etc.

We are open to other creative ideas, please let us know if you would like to do something
different.

PARTE 2: MODELO 
 
Opción 1:

También puede ser un póster emergente. 
 
Opción 4:  
Puedes hacer un video informativo sobre tu misión. Puede ser sobre tu visita a la 
misión o un video hecho por iMovie/powerpoint/etc.
