Preliminary Admission Notice

Playgroup & Nursery - Academic Session 2024-25

Admissions for Playgroup (CBS Sonarpur) and Nursery (all four CBS Campuses) for the Academic Session 2024-2025 will open from Friday 1st
September 2023. Parents seeking Admission of their wards into either of the above mentioned classes may please collect the Admission form
from the school office of the respective school campus where the Admission is sought.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

 Class Playgroup: (CBS Sonarpur ONLY) Age of candidates for Playgroup should be between 2 years 9 months and 3 years 8 months and as
on 1st April 2024. Those candidates who do not fulfil this basic criteria will be disqualified.
 Class Nursery: (All four campuses of CBS) Age of Candidates for Nursery should 3 years 9 months to 4 years 9 months as on 1st April
2024. Those candidates who do not fulfil this basic criteria will be disqualified.

The Admission Forms will be available in the School Office of the respective campus from Friday, 1st September to Saturday 30th
September, 2023 (Except Sundays & public holidays) between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on week days and between 10 a.m. to 12
noon on Saturdays.

The Admission Form will be available from the respective school office of Calcutta Boys’ School on the dates specified on payment of Rs.
1,000/- each.

Each Admission Form is registered against a specific candidate and is non-transferable.

The duly filled up Admission form with all enclosures must be deposited latest by Monday 2nd November, 2023 in the collection box placed at
the school gate of the respective campuses.

Box A for Category A candidates and Box B for GENERAL Category as mentioned below.

1. Candidates who fall in Category A i.e. (a) Christians & Anglo-Indians (b) sons of CBS & CGHS Staff (c) sons of ex-students of CBS only and
(d) those who have own brothers (not ‘cousin brothers’) studying in Calcutta Boys' School are given preference. However, selection for
admission is not guaranteed for all. They must fulfil all criteria, by the specified time and must fare well at the interaction.

2. Boys appearing for the Nursery Admission are not permitted private tuition from any staff member of this school. Discovery of any such
arrangement will lead to disqualification of the candidate concerned.

3. No middle men will be entertained.

4. The school does not accept any donations or other gifts in lieu of admissions.

5. Any attempt to influence the decision of the Principal in the form of photocopies of application forms (directly or to any employee of the
School or to any other person), gifts or letters of recommendation will adversely affect the child’s chances of being selected for admission.
Please remember that a deserving candidate will lose his chance for admission if any such attempt is made. Please help the school in the
task of fair and unbiased selection.

6. A child is not admitted on the basis of merit or intelligence only. Our aim is to select a cross-section of all communities and classes.

7. The Principal’s decision is final and binding at all stages

Enclosures:

The following self-attested documents must be submitted along with the admission form.
a) Formal family photograph (POST CARD SIZE) of the Father, Mother and the candidate ONLY.
b) Self-attested photocopy of the candidate’s birth certificate from the Kolkata Municipal Corporation or equivalent body.
c) Self-attested photocopy of the discharge certificate from the Institution where the child was born.
d) Self-attested photocopy of the Immunization Certificate.
e) Self-attested photocopy of candidate’s Aadhaar card.
f) Self-attested photocopy of the Baptism Certificate, duly attested by the Pastor-in-Charge (in the case of Christian candidates).
g) Self-attested photocopy of SC/ST/OBC certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBC candidate).
h) Self-attested photocopy of the ISC/ ICSE Certificate issued by the Council (in case of ex-students of the Calcutta Boys’ School).
i) Self-attested photocopy of Parents salary certificate or IT return form.
j) Self-attested photocopy of Parents KYC (Aadhar Card/Passport/Driving Licence)

APPLICATION FORMS WITH INCOMPLETE INFORMATION / DOCUMENTS OR WHERE THE INSTRUCTIONS HAVE NOT BEEN
ADHERED TO, WILL BE REJECTED.
