Materials and Equipment:

 GPS
 Measuring tape
 Mangrove tree identification guide
 Surveying tape
 Protective Clothing

Methods:

1. Location of Sampling Sites:


 Two transects were established in the mangrove area at MSU Naawan.
 GPS was used to precisely locate the sampling sites.

2. Establishment of Transect Lines and Plots:


 Transect lines were laid out in the mangrove area.
 Two 10x10 meter plots were established along each transect.

3. Identification and Counting of Tree Species, Saplings & Seedlings:


 Trees, saplings, and seedlings within each plot were identified and counted.
 A tree identification guide was used for accurate species determination.

Measurement of Girth of Tree Stem at 1.3 m Above Ground:


 The girth of tree stems at 1.3 meters above ground (breast height) was
measured using a measuring tape.
 Results were recorded for each identified tree species.
