A system having rotating unbalance has a total mass of 25 kg. The unbalanced mass of 1
kg rotates with a radius of 0.04m. It has been observed that at a speed of 1000 rpm, the

A body of mass 70 kg is suspended from a spring which deflects 2.0 cm under the load. It
is subjected to a damping effect adjusted to a value of 0.23 times that required for critical
damping. Find the natural frequency of un-damped and damped vibrations and the ratio of

successive amplitudes for damped vibrations. If the body is subjected to a periodic
disturbing force of 700 N & of frequency equal to 0.78 times the natural un-damped
frequency, find the amplitude of forced vibrations.

A vibrating system having a mass of 1 kg is suspended by a spring of stiffness 1000 N/m. It


is put to harmonic excitation of 10 N. Assuming viscous damping, determine a) resonant

The springs of an automobile trailer are compressed 0.1m under its own weight. Find the

A machine of mass 1000kg is acted upon by an external force of 2450N in 1500rpm. To

Figure, shows a vibrating system having two degrees of freedom. Determine the two
natural frequencies of vibrations of motion of m1 and m2 for the two modes of vibration.
Take m1 = 20 kg, m2 = 35 kg, K= 3000 N/m.

Find the natural frequency of the system shown in figure.

Determine the natural frequencies and position of node of torsional vibration system
having two rotors A and B attached to the ends of a shaft 1500 mm long. The MOI of rotor
A is 650 kgm2 and that of rotor B is 215 kgm2. The shaft is 95 mm diameter for the first

600mm, 60 mm diameter for the next 500 mm length and 50 mm diameter for the
remaining length. Modulus of rigidity of shaft is 0.8 x 105 MPa. (Assume value of
equivalent diameter as 0.1 m).
For the system shown in figure, find the natural frequencies of vibration and principal
modes of vibration.

Setup the Differential equations of motion for the system shown in figure and Determine:
