Auxiliary verb: an auxiliary verb (abbreviated aux) is a verb that adds functional or
grammatical meaning to the clause in which it appears.

Irregular verb: it is a type of verb that does not follow the general rule of using “-ed” at the
end of the word to make the past tense or the past participle form.
Modal verb: a verb (such as can, could, shall, should, ought to, must, will, or would) that is
usually used with another verb to express ideas such as possibility, necessity, and
permission.
Model: a description or analogy used to help visualize something (such as a process) that
cannot be directly observed.

Shift: each of two or more recurring periods in which different groups of workers do the
same jobs in relay.
Simple Past: the simple past tense, sometimes called the preterit, is used to talk about a
completed action in a time before now.
